Ethereal is now called Wireshark. The old Ethereal site doesn't mention this and is no longer being updated.

But Google did mention this.

@esther: I don't understand, as I can see Wireshark is not a shareware both Ethereal and Wireshark are released under the GPL, maybe i'm blind...

Even if it was a commercial product, no one said anything about cracking it. It was a good reply from a member who is really above that kind of thing anyway.

Personally I'm glad for the heads up and I'm running Wireshark right now, as I remember the old Ethereal didn't run on XP.
