Howdy All,

I have a dongle emulator for a rainbow dongle with the program [Target Name Deleted].

I haven't used it in a while and seem to have forgotten how it works (someone else made it for me.)

I have 3 files:

FFFE_FULL.reg
sent2004.exe
sentemul.sys

I thought I remembered that I had to import the registry key, then run sent2004.
That all goes fine and dandy, but I forget when I'm supposed to install the [Target Name Deleted].

Should I do that before or after the sent2004?
Do I need to have one of the dongles plugged into the machine?

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I'm almost a complete idiot.

Thanks.

Hi

first : Are you allowed to say what program you have the emulator for?

second :Sorry to see that you didn't do it yourself. Do you know at least how the emulator works?
From the files that you have I understand that you have a system driver (*.sys) which emulates the functions of the dongle ..or at least replies with the correct(ed) answers.

I've used it before, but not for a long time.
I can't seem to get it to work on this machine.

Actually, you would deserve the title "i"m almost a complete idiot" (your words) because you obviously failed to read the "BIG RED LETTERS" at the top of the Forums or the statement under your signature. Had you actually read the FAQ, you would have realized that there was no need, and probably a reason NOT to mention the TARGET of your question!

Now, before you make any further errors, how about you actually go and read the FAQ!.

I did read the FAQ.

My apologies.

I didn't mention the company name as it said.

The FAQ is bugged imo.

Someone can name the Target if he dont:

1. Name the Company that makes the Program (or the Target?).
2. Show how to bypass the Target Protection.
3. Name the Company AND name the Target, together. <- bug
4. Name the Company AND name the Protection, together.
5. Name the Company, (<-comma mean AND or OR?) name the Target AND name the Protection, together. <- bug

I suggest to remove the ANDs & commas and put OR, and rules i suppose should not be in FAQ :|

Nice FAQ though, crackers' notes by Tornado is a must for starters

1> DO NOT POST THE NAME OF THE SOFTWARE COMPANY THAT MAKES THE PROGRAM.
2 >DO NOT POST TARGET SPECIFIC CODE THAT INCLUDES THE NAME OF THE TARGET: this means do not post code that shows where and how to patch/keygen blah blah blah on a specific target.

3>Keep your code snippets as generic as possible while explaining your problem:
3.1>DO NOT POST THE NAME OF THE SOFTWARE COMPANY AND THE NAME OF THE TARGET.
3.2>DO NOT POST THE NAME OF THE SOFTWARE COMPANY AND THE NAME OF THE PROTECTION.
3.3>DO NOT POST THE NAME OF THE SOFTWARE COMPANY, THE NAME OF THE TARGET AND THE NAME OF THE PROTECTION.
3.4>DO NOT POST ANY VARIATION OF THE AFORMENTIONED RULES.

no bug. the second rule cover it - and the last rule covers combinations
However, it is not well readable. I believe that making a bullet/numbered list with the word do not post in red might help first posters that clearly dont read and just scroll text.

Actually, the main problem is that alot of first time posters just want what they want, and they want it NOW, and they don't bother to read the FAQ at all.

I'm speaking generally here, not specifically about this Thread, but it is a common problem and alot of such posts are simply removed from the Forums.
