they charge for pressing "restart" button? I'm moving to hosting business

Their story was that they had to "press the restart button" too many times and that they would thereafter no longer do it for "free."

We suggested there was a need to "press the restart button" because there was something mechanically wrong with the server, which produced a "segmentation fault" causing the server to frequently crash and, often, fail to restart. They didn't want to check that, even though there had just been a complete HD failure necessitating a complete rebuilding of the software and data just before this began and the problems never went away.

So now they can keep their crappy server. This one is much better, mechanically, and much more up to date, software wise. And here, things just "work" the way they are supposed to. We couldn't even make a consistent backup on the old server any more, without it crashing.

Between Work and this project, life's been very busy. If I wasn't complete Schizoid, and able to devote some small part of my brain to both functions at once, I would have gone nuts by now. No, wait... I am nuts.

It also seems I went to long without logging in and my registration expired again,shame on me!

2nEw: If you post your old name, I am sure one of the admins will restore you to your self.

My old login was 2nEw. I have had it expire before and was able to get the same one back.

I see that I have old posts from 2000 in the archive but the last few years I do more reading than posting. Back in the days of yore I spent hours a day on Sandman's and Fravia's forum but real life has me too busy these days.

Hats off to Woodmann for taking over and keeping this great resource alive!

I'm still missing the linux rce part of the woodmann website (http://woodmann.com/0xf001/) since the crash. In the same time also the sticky disappeared in the linux subforum here.
Are you going to fix this? Or did you drop it under the carpet and hoped noone would notice

i would be very happy to be online here again i send u my updated files ....

regarding review: my plans did not work out as i wanted it, yesterday i finished 1 of the last 2 major items left (file: save ), so now only file:load is left (pretty boring stuff ). after that i will release the beta version!
i have learned to be careful with publishing dates/timeframes, so i dont tell an estimate, but now its definately not long to come anymore ...
