The Reservation's Crusader Fights The Drug Gangs

Della Aragon is with the Arapahoe School district. She represents some 12,000 Indians, members of the Northern Arapaho and the Eastern Shoshone tribes, who live on 2.2 million acre reservation. This area is so vast many homes are separated by miles of barren land.

Cruz's drug cartel targeted Indian Country because the people are vulnerable, and have weak law enforcement. But the story of how meth came to this remote reservation is really quite remarkable. Like a cancer, a Mexican drug gang permeated the reservation and its families. It left behind a landscape strewn with broken lives.

The Reservation Is The Size Of A Small State

This reservation, 3.5 million sq miles,  is the size of Massachusetts, the Indians are all over, and they are broke. What is a drug gang doing here?

Mexicans Infiltrated The Reservation

They started with free meth samples. The men pursued Indian women, providing them with meth even as they romanced them, and fathered their children. Eventually, the women needed to support their habit, so they became dealers, too — and they used free samples to recruit new customers.

Sagaste-Cruz and his Mexican gang worked through a local family, the 'Goodmans'. They owned a store in Riverton, the main town. Somehow Abe Snell, the local police chief, didn't notice?

The Goodmans were a  family who were dealing methamphetamine and prescription drugs here. There is a small Zionist element who control the Casinos.

The annual gross on US Indian reservations is $12.7 billion a year, and these people run it. A small casino grosses $100 million, and all the support and personnel, are hand picked friends. After the skim, the padded expenses, and the investors, the tribe may get $2,000 per individual.
