The Nokia 2110i/2110e is a Digital (GSM) Mobile phone that has just about all the features you could want. This section will expanded later.
This section will expand once I get some more information on the original 2110 as I personally have a 2110e (The Australian Version of the 2110i).
The Original 2110 has a little round stubb antenna, where as the 2110e/2110i has a 1 inch/ 2.5 cm stubb antenna that pokes out from the top of the case where the antenna pulls out from.
The 2110e is the Austrlian version of the 2110i. It was modified (I'm not sure what excatualy was changed) to meet Australian regulations from AUSTEL. The Major difference in looks for the 2110e is that the Up/Down arrows have been moved from the middle of the phone to the right hand side, the menu selections keys have been slightly enlarged and the front of the phones has been given a more flush look and feel. As for technically different.
This FAQ also covers the different types of Digital Phones in the 2110 Range. This includes :
o 2110 (GSM)
o 2120 (TDMA)
o 2146 (PCN)
o 2160 (Dual mode, AMPS/TDMA)
o 2190 (PCS)

From the reports I have had. The latest software version for the
2110e/2110 is :
V 5.62
05-05-97
NHE-4
Side Note : The special Christmas release, which contains
a new ring tone of "Jingle Bells" and animates a sleighride through
snow on the screen, is NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!
It was a special christmas deal and that was it. Obviously the programers
at Nokia had some time to spare before Christmas.
The latest software version for the original
2110 is :
V m4.95
02-07-96
The latest software version for the 2140, also known as the Nokia
Orange, also known as the E-plus in Germany
is :
V m4.92
01-06-95
This is something that MUST be done by your phone supplier (or their service centre) or a Nokia service centre.
My Advice is to ring Nokia in your Country to find out the nearest Nokia Service Centre near you. The Nokia Service Centre's (in my experience) usually give you better service and a quicker turn-a-round time than other places.
