My Favorite Periodicals
- The Annals of Improbable
Research
- Big Brother #15 burst forth in March 1995. This
would probably be my favorite magazine of all time, if only I
had even the slightest interest in skateboarding. Everything they print
which is not directly related to it is either breathtaking, shocking,
revolting, or hysterical. Call 1-800-366-6670 to subscribe.
Note: this magazine is not for minors, so get a post office box, kids.
- Blaster appears to be completely defunct now.
Although they had a weak web site, their rag was twice as useful as Wired magazine, and a lot more fun
than Vibe. (Plus, they mentioned the
cDc in issue #1. You can't beat that.)
- Cometbus (Aaron Cometbus's zine)
- Cool Beans! (G.A.
Ellsworth's zine)
- Film Threat
- Mudflap (Greta Shred's zine)
- Murder Can Be Fun (John Marr's zine)
- Scientific American magazine, although it sure has been
going downhill since 1995 began. As if that TV show "Scientific
American Frontiers" with Alan Alda weren't bad enough... Anyway, the
magazine is still worth reading.
- Skeptical Inquirer
- Soul Story
- That Nasty Thing (Ed Brubaker's zine)
