Microsoft Insider Live again...
Saturday, Micro Microsoft Insider Live was on Tech TV again. Not really anything intersting was on it. Tablet PC bull crap and more hype about Microsoft products. Funny, they don't mention things like, "Hey kids run Windows Update right now", "We just released a service pack that will protect you". I have bitching at the bars and night clubs, yes I am an alcoholic, about software companies not taking pro-active stance on security. Such as buying TV time for a Public Service Announcement. PSA's are Tax deductable. They could announce security updates and such. We shouldn't have to go to a web site everyday to see if our systems are secure. It would be like me going to the Tire Store everyday to get my tires checked to make sure they aren't going to blow up. Firestone has recalls, why doesn't software take their productions seriously.

ICP album released on Tuesday
You probably have been wondering why news hasn't been updated lately. Well the new Insane Clown Posse album was released on Tuesday and it is know as their last joker's card. Which the juggalos should know that this is the trip to Shangri-La. It comes with one of two DVDs., either concert footage or a talk presented by Joe Bruce aka Violent J. This album has kept me busy away from the computer smoking up and just thinking about the Shangri-La. Check out ICP's site at http://insaneclownposse.com

Computer virus known as W32.Braid has slowly spread among UK PCs
MessageLabs has seen only 43 copies of the virus so far but we have seen that W32.Braid shares some attributes of the widely spread Klez family. CNET news.com posts: W32.Braid, also known as PE.Brid, can spread to PCs running any version of Microsoft Windows. People who use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 and 5.5 may find that their computers automatically become infected, because Braid uses an old flaw in Internet Explorer to automatically execute the attachment that carries it when the e-mail message is viewed. Patching the program with Service Pack 2 will solve the problem, Network Associates said in its advisory on the virus.

tommEE's weekend webtips
I was joking with some friends during Friday afternoon and I came up with a little idea. People often ask me for different ideas and tricks that they can use in their computer duties so I thought I would start posting them here.

Take your links...

I found myself going home and not having the links I use at work. You probably do the same. You find a web site at work and you link it. You don't have it available at your house. I do something that might work for you.

I use Mozilla for my web browser and this is what I do. I go to 'Bookmarks' and 'Manage Bookmarks'. Then export the bookmarks. Save the file as bookmarks.html and then ftp or scp that file to a web site. That way you can view your bookmarks from anywhere by going to http://www.mysite.com/bookmarks.html. I do this every friday to ensure that I have my links over the weekend.
