First of all, a big thank you to everyone who emailed me. I appreciate your interest and offers to help. I have had many many people email me and offer to transcribe tapes, and that is wonderful. So far, no one in the Washington D.C. area has stepped forward to offer to go to the National Archives to get tapes.

So, I went ahead and ordered a few tapes to get us started. What I got, however, was a lesson in dealing with the government. It just takes forever to get anything, and it looks like it's going to be a few more weeks to get the tapes.

Everyone that has offered to help, just hang on, I will get back to you. As soon as the tapes come in I will be emailing people to transcribe them. So hang in there!

Poindexter - Thank you for the link, and those are nice, but they are the same tapes that have been transcribed by the National Archives already, and are available on the NA website too. In fact, those link just point to the NA website, now that I look at it.

Alternals - We would love their assistance, and anyones assistance in that area, to copy tapes at the National Archives facility. You have to physically go there and copy the tapes with a cassette dual-cassette recorder that you have to bring with you.

hi, Iive never been here before. Thought that it would be an interesting site full of insightfull and witty anarchist 'pranks', and to be fair I havnt read much of the site, I got as far as the Bob phone pranks and was completely confused? Why does it count as a political statement to ostrasize someone on the basis of their religious beliefs and personal life. this person had not done anything wrong other than not fitting in to your category for a cool person. Did they actually do anything to provoke this other than be a "geek"? surely an anarchist prank should be something directed at the establishment, not an individual.. are you missing the point or is this irony? or are you just a bunch of morons?

Also, what is the desired effect of transcribing tapes, do you have any aims at all other than to look like your cool and anti establishment? what have you actually done?

I realise that the bob pranks were not neccersarily done by the site administrators or whatever, but the very fact that they were included on the site is just laughable. I'm transferring to NAS Oceana in a month or so, and I'm told it's only a couple hours from DC. I won't, however, have a car until April or thereabout. I can help after I get one, though. Assuming this is still going on.

Just a thought…………..If you wanted to save time maybe you could get a Walkman and adjust it so it plays tapes at a faster speed. You could then connect it to a digital dictaphone ( these store files in a way which you can upload to your comp real quick). Then when you got home you could just upload the files onto your computer and put them through cool edit to slow them back down. I’m not sure how many times faster you could run it before it started to loose quality. I do however know you can go faster than high speed dubbing on double cassette decks.

I'd like to offer my services for transcribing the Nixon tapes. Being underaged, and out of the country, I feel this is my only option, as far as the tapes go.

Also, would they just use copies of the Nixon tapes? They wouldn't want to damage the real ones, I imagine.

Uh... What sort of tapes are the ones you describe? audio or video tapes?

Are they the type you could exchange with blank ones you just happened to have in your bag?

I have been skeptical of this project thinking since the beginning that it is a wasgte of time and energies because if there is anything significant in these tapes it would have been discovered and exposed by other sources with more recources than what you apparently have.

I think about this every time I see this topic and decided to respond to it.

1. You, J.C., must have some kind of compelling interest, some specific thing(s) that you are interested in finding some information on. What might those be, if you don't mind me asking?

[comment]To me, Watergate is simple bullshit and not worth the time to even look at, one of the very minor offenses of that regime which they got caught for, and emphasizing Watergate serves well to cover up the real crimes that occured. Two items of interest that I might have would be with regard to his knowlege of the US development of biological weapons and the intentional experimental use of those on human subjects and possible unintentional results. Nixon was aware of this by 1969. A second interest might be COINTELPRO which was a more vast and dirtier operation than people realize. We only get the fucking Yuppies version and exposure of how it affected the Yuppies. Wa-a-a-ah. Poor Yuppies! They are only interested in their own media exposure. They didn't get killed, exposed to poisons, experimental neurotoxins and biological weapons material (NOT talking about HIV), were not falsely imprisoned and/or locked away in institutions and overdosed with experimental drugs causing permanent neurological damage and turned into vegetables. This is what DID happen to alot of people who were considered a real threat to the establishment. They and their associates were strategic targets and I am not talking about the Yuppie types who thought they were revolutionaries because they owned a copy of the Beatles white album, formed frivolous political organizations and sought alot of media attention.

2. (a) I have never heard or seen a transcript of any presidential tape, however I did read some of the Kennedy memoranda which has been published on the web which is very revealing as to what JFK was really involved in behind the scenes, which to me dispells the myth about what a great president he was, and reaveals many reasonable causes for his asassination. JFK was as bad as any of them. To me the assassination was about which criminal branch (Demopublicans or Republicrats) would be in control the emerging Military/Police State (which included strategic overthrow of foreign governments).

(b) My thoughts this morning are that sometimes much can be revealed by the conspicuous absence of direct reference to a specific item in certain lines of communication. Alot of evidence and information was of course destroyed during the Nixon administration and it wasn't just at the white house.

Finally, all of this stuff about the Nixon administration is very old and I think it is mostly a waste of time in view of the fact that what has been going on since then is 10 times worse or 100 times worse than what as going on during the Nixon administration. This is the worste it has ever been and it will get alot worser

Again, I would like to ask what your personal interests are in these tapes. Are you looking for anything in particular?

I'll stop back by in five years if this site still exists and the USA hasn't yet been nuked into it's proper state and see if you have solved the Watergate case.

Although the current relevence is arguable, I find Nixon's rants amusing. I have an extensive collection of bootleg concert recordings on CDR that I would trade for copies of the tapes or videos of Nuclear Test footage. I know Bechtel Nevada sells them but I am too poor to buy them right now.

I can understand why some people might find Nixon entertaining. I remember some of his national speeches on television (before Watergate) and it amazed me that people actually believed a single word he ever said, but that just shows how brain dead the American public IS. I did read one of the transcribed tapes here at Totse and yeah, I guess it is entertaining to see how stupid these people really are behind big fake images.

I used to have a collection of nuclear test photos and film footage that I picked up off of the web. Extraordinary and fascinating to examine them and imagine or perceive what is going on in the blast. The Atomic Cannon test was really cool. I'd like to have a bunch of those :-)

You may be able to find some of these on P2P file sharing- I found some on KaZaa and you may find some other sources for them.

I just read that the government. is releasing 27 more such films after editing out the classified parts. [They want people to believe that they possess some kind of top secret knowlege that has to be edited from the films to protect the 'NAZIonal Zecurity, but mainly the edited parts are the direct exposure of troops and civilians- that's what they are hiding.

Also I found this site which has a list of films and you may be able to use the film names/numbers to search for them.

if you were halfway intelligent you would've read the faq, in which he claims that a person thinking in one language, and translating to another in their mind, can have reversals in a language they're fluent in

so the question is, is osama bin laden known to be fluent in english? anybody know?
