I realize that there are some of you that are quite antisemitic. There are also those who seem to be quite antithietic in general.

I implore you. Don't post if what you're saying isn't a contribution to the subject of religion. If you're just going to complain about how much you hate a religious a non-religious sect take it to Bitch and Moan.

I'll just end up moving it there anyways; and don't give me any shit about it because as far as I'm concerned, all of your hate threads are worthless drivel and I'd sooner just delete them. I'm affording you dregs all the diplomacy I can muster.

Cheers,

Lost

What's interesting is how God is being taken as an alibi by shitheads that don't even gather the basics of human awareness.

What's interesting is how science is being taken as an alibi by shitheads that don't even gather the basics of human intelligence.

I fully agree that people should post elsewhere if all they want to do is bitch and moan about other people's religions, although it's often quite difficult, if not impossible, to debate religion without bashing someone's belief system. Most, if not all, beliefs people hold are in direct conflict with someone else's belief. No matter how tactfully it's put, any dogmatic statement will, eventually, offend someone.

We could surely eliminate this kind of crap by either holding a completely agnostic view (in which case these discussions just become mental masturbation) or we could accept all beliefs as valid (which they are in SOME sense)...and commence, yet again, with brain wacking.

Also...

Antisemitism utterly pisses me off (on two different levels). On one level, I feel that anyone who would judge any group solely by a shared gentic heritage is a complete fucking idiot...I really don't feel I need to go on about that. Any full grown adult who feels that way doesn't deserve an explanation of the stupidity of their viewpoint! On another level, why the fuck does everyone like to throw around the term "antisemitism" when dealing with religious issues. Semitic refers to a people, not fucking religion. In fact, there are (or were) a great deal of Semitic religions.

Judaism is a Semitic religion (but not all followers are Semites) and other religions (for example, the Caananite religion) was Semitic. Semite does not equal Jewish or vice versa. Please stop using the term "antisemite" to describe a person who dislikes Judaism.

Someone is not "antiarab" or disliking Islam (some Muslims are semitic people, and I'm not quite sure of the difference between "Arab" and "Semitic") and someone is not "antindian" for disliking Hinduism, etc. Do you see the ignorance of applying that term to religion?

I, for the most part, dislike Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Wicca, Buddhism, etc. (although I do find a lot of value in all of these, and other, religions), but I am in no way opposed to the ethnic groups who practice them--I have friends belonging to nearly every non-isolated faith.

Sorry, I'm done ranting for now.

Thou Art God...

Some Jews hate Judaism it doesn't make them antisemites.

If one finds it too difficult to hold a conversation with someone who has a different opinion, perhaps one shouldn't speak so much.

And if one finds it too difficult to hold a religious debate without bashing anothers religions, perhaps one should find something more on ones level to entertain oneself with; such as small shiny objects, boogers, and mud pies.

Again, I agree with you. Personally, I am agnostic, but like to play devil's advocate. I was mearly pointing out that many people are often easily offended when any statements are made which challege or question their belief systems.

And by the way, Isn't this forum titled: "My God Can Beat the Shit Out of Your God."
