I was just wondering if there were many people out there who have read the Celestine prophecy? And if you have, what is your opinion of the struggle for energy in all living things?

It's a badly written book, but with some interesting concepts in it.

Personally I can't remember much about it but it got me thinking a lot and 'energy' is a topic that's worth thinking about.

It's a cool book. Can be turned into cult material though. Telling people that they will reach truth by eliminating their ego is practical when you want to make money off their backs. What disturbed me was, the marketing at the end of the book, directly advertising horoscopes by the author, celestine communities, courses in celestine philosophy, all that cult stuff. No. it's just a different belief set.

evrey group that seeks to control you for the benefit of a select few is a cult, the Government being the biggest one. Even your mind, and your body is a cult because it manipulates you for maximum pain control. Your soul however could give 2 fucks about your pain, because it knows that pain is an illusion, the soul only seeks truth and freedom.

Seriously: true, gv't is a cult, mainstream culture is a cult, psychatric standards of defining mental health are a cult tool, tv is a cult brainwash tool, movies are cult conditionings for your mind, well the only way to be really alive is finding a way to be true to yourself and gradually look for refinement.

Actually I believe some cult members can be far stronger than regular mainstream, mass-cult citizens, once they kick the cult ass outta their life.

You can stay aware, and yet live a good life with every comfort, leaving dumb masses as well as fucked-up fanatics to their respective cult activities.

I also read a later book, his non-fiction summary. It made a really big point about tithing. It certainly seems to have cult written all over it. The first book was interesting though.

The book is not about the struggle for energy. Its about finding out who you are. Its about finding the answers inside of you, not outside of you. After searching valiantly outside of oneself for the answer, one realises that the answer can only be found inside of one's self. The outside is only a reflection of what is inside. Every time you read the book, you will gain a new insight into what the book is talking about, as well as a new insight into yourself. Its a wonderful book.
