Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that completelly made up by Lovecraft in the 1920's? Why do I keep seeing it taken seriously? Why, oh why?

The "Necronomicon" (written in human blood, bound and covered in human skin) doesn't even exist, unless someone went out and created one since the legend began.

Actually I dont, they show it every Easter? I was being sarcastic in that last statement, if it was unclear.

Egre-gores are supposedly made out of the energy the believers of a deity let out when worshipping the same deity.

A book can't have an egre-gore since it's not a person. People might believe the book's contents, not the book itself.

Or are you saying that the energy people direct when believing the book is enough to turn the contents into "truth"

It doesn't really matter what the object of belief is. Anything a significant amount of people believe in "is" truth. Take for example: money, governments...shall I continue?

Ok, I doub anyone cares, but I've looked into this a bit and the first mention of the "book" was in 1923 by HP Lovecraft in a short story. Since then, I'd assume any copies of it are just exploitations on middle class America's interest in the occult. Or something.
