It's a lot easier to attribute uncontrollable and phenomena (or blame it on) gods.

Add sociology to that, and you have religion.

God knows what your gonna do but does he force you to do anything? You don't believe in God, so that shows God doesnt control you. If God controlled you then nobody would go to hell and everyone would be praying all the time. Just because he knows whats going to happen doesnt mean it's "bad" to do after all 100% of the time you already consiously know whats Good and Bad of every situation. The bible has a lot of metaphors so don't take everything as literally.

God is heaven and anything other than God is hell. Jesus said "ye are Gods" so that means you can do whatever you want. God gives you advice which is natural law. You fail when you dont follow the advice. But the option to follow the law is yours since "Ye are Gods."
