Chirstianity says that if you are bad you'll go to hell, hell is a shitty place.

Hell is ruled by Satan, the big bad, the evil dude. Satan tries to influence the world into becoming evil because he doesn't really like god.

Fair enough, you might say. But...

If Satan wants everybody to be evil, and Satan rules hell, then why would hell be a shitty place. Surely Satan would want to reward people for being evil, wouldn't he/she/it? Satan wouldn't be going around saying "Hey, everybody be evil", but at the same time condemn people to an enternity of pain and suffering for doing his work.

Any christians wanna try and explain this to me?

Satan's a good guy, he's G-d's pitbull.

Of course, he doesn't exist, but it's good imagery nonetheless.

I am not a christian, but have been throughout my childhood, and have been raised to understand this stuff pretty well. and as far as I know the cristian belief wants to make satan out to be as evil and scary as it is possible to make him(basicly so that they can scare people into being christians). so supposedly he doesn't reward them because he is just that bad.

by the way Misanthropic is a dumbass

personaly though I don't see how anyone can be so sure of any religion, belief, ect. because I think that there is just as many things out there for you to get tripped up in as there is ignorance in the world. all religion is is a mind game, and every stupid human mind feels like they have to come up with an answer for every question even if it comes down to subconciously lying to yourself. and because the human mind is such a fragile thing when a person is confused people will easily trick themselves into believing things if only to feel more sure of themselves, and even while I feel that I am very sure of this idea I still find myself searching for answers that religion offers many different options to. so I suppose that it will just be a never ending cycle

k soul rebel u ask a question, u get an answer http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif) firstly the idea that hell is somehow 'where Satan lives' is, well, wrong, the Bible says that in 'the end' (armageddon all that stuff) God destroy's Satan, so Satan isnt somehow the ruler of hell (that idea is some medievel bs) hell is seeing God, being judged guilty by Him and then spending eternity without Him, which i wud assume after seein the perfectness of God wud b a major bummer

I would say that from a Christian outlook, Satan is too good for you and God, and so if you go to Hell he will torture you for being such a piece of shit.

EDIT: I've got something else to add.

Satan reminds me of the leaders of secular cliques, such as skins. They always say they want "members", but when people actually try to join up, they feel like they are above them and so they are rejected as subpar.

If that makes sense.

Look - I'm Christian. In my opinion, most of the shit in the Bible isn't meant to be literal at all. Many could argue that Satan is merely the Ego. It's what's in the "forbidden fruit" in Adam and Eve. Actually, Adam and Eve is basically the same thing as Pandora's Box (a greek myth). Also, it even says "God is Love" in the Bible. Doesn't that make you think that although maybe alot of those religious people are feeding you BS, Christianity doesn't HAVE to be BS? Just my two cents.

Adam and eve are just a hybrid of Pandora's box.

It's basically a really shitty way to explain that shit happens and there's nothing we or anything else can do about it.

There are no devils to cause it or gods to specifically prevent it's occurance. "Shit" is an indiscriminate happenstance.
