View Full Version : What if christianity or Islam never happened?
How do you think the world would be different if one or the other (or both) never existed? I suppose the cursades would never have happened but what would europe be like now?
It would be full of people wondering what the fuck to do on a sunday morning http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)
or
The world would be full of people with a firmer grasp of god and spirituality. There would be less greed, jealousy, anger, and less slapping more shagging.
A lot of us would be jews and pagans. The holocoust may never have happened. Jews also wouldn't be persecuted and stuff either.
We may never of recovered from the Dark Ages.

There would be a lot more peace in the world. Of course the most largly effected area would be Israel which would not only be at peace with itself but would be comprised of Muslims and Jews living side by side in peace.

"The holocoust may never have happened."
i have to disagree, in watching the history channel's show on hitler, his hatred of jews can be readily seen.
1) refused acceptance to art school in vienna, 5 of the 7 board members jewish.
2) finds first wife in bed with a jew.
the crusades not happening would have been a wonderful thing, islam probably wouldn't have the militant position it has today.

Those two reasons alone wouldn't cause someone to kill six million Jews. People in Germany grew up with anti-semitism...children were raised on it. Hitler's hatred of Jews went back further than those two incidences.

Hitler wasn't the most rational guy, you know.
Evil genius, but eccentric nonetheless.

Well theres certainly some interesting discussion going on.
In reference to "the holocaust would never of happened", I have been studing Germany 1918-45, Weimar Germany, Nazi Germany and Hitler himself and would have to agree with the theory.
As someone mentioned eariler (sorry i didn't copy your Username), the crusades
would not have occured, this would profoundly affect the future of the world and everyone here today.
Returning to my point, even the smallest change in the past, such as never having christianity or Islam, could affect the past present and future in ways we can even comprehend.
It is unlikely therefore to believe that Hitler would have suceeded in:
- Being born at all
- Becoming Anti-Semitic (in Vinenna)
- Going to WW1
- Joining/leading the NSDAP
- Achieveing political majority in Germany during the depression through opportunism and background political dealings, and thus being elected Chancellor and then onto Fuhrer of Germany.
Also if hitler did, by some chance, not end up anti-semitic. He would:
- Not be elected (strong anti-semitic key factor to Nazi Party ideology)
- Operation Sea Lion and Battle of Britain could of occured/suceed, which it didn't due to his unrelenting quest for eastern lebensraum (living space) at the cost of the "sub-humans" (jews, slavs, bolsheviks ect).
Thats just something that occured to me while i was reading some responses.

Keep in mind that when dealing with a question of hypothetical situations, there are no right or wrong answers beacuse it is entirely speculation.
(which might just contradict everything I just said http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)
