Lhasa has now relocated to California!
Anyone with a thought in his/her head needs to check out the books of Tarthang Tulku...(Time, Space, and Knowledge; Knowledge of Time and Space; etc...)
Since the sixties this guy has been doing all he can to spread Tibetan Buddhism in our silly country. He's founded an institute at The U of C at Berkeley called Nyingma Institute, and a publishing company called Dharma: All of their profits go toward spreading Buddhism and maintaining the institute.
If you're in the Chicago area, there's a store in Evanston called TibetGift with all of his books and loads more... Unabridged Books might have one or two... Most stores should have at least one. Just pick one up and read a chapter.
Best of all, his books are incredibly lucid. You don't have to know a thing about Buddhism to understand them, and none of his words contain any bias. It's all very thought out and rational.
As for myself, I plan to become a "monk" (organization volunteer) as soon as possible!
