I grew up with the notion that God gave us all free will, but I also grew up believing God knew everything. So if God created me knowing very well what I'm going to do in life it seems to me that there's no such thing as free will, we're all merely doing everything God made us do. I hope I haven't confused you guys, but for those who do understand me tell me what you know about the subject, I'd really like to think it such a thing as free will.
This is such a tough subject.
I believe that we are a part of God, so no matter whatever we know god knows, whatever we decide is also god decision.
But we are a seperate part of god that has been sectioned of for the sake of 'experiencing life whilst not knowing who we are(ignorance)'. Since we have been individualised, and we have been made to forget who we are, we can go through life perceiving life in whatever way we choose (since we don't yet understand the true 'life'). We have the ability to choose how to view situations and how to act on them, but god will always know what we are about to choose because: Since you are a part of him, and he knows everything (since he created everything), he will know how your thoughts will develop and change and decide (since he is 'thought).
God understands how everything moves and changes and so he knows where your thoughts will inevitably lead.
Whether you have free will doesn't matter, coz it's what you'd choose anyway.
