My aunt encoraged me to read the bible because she wants me to become a christian.
So, one day, I opened this bible and looked down to see the 10 commandments.
The first Commandment is thy shalt not have any other gods before me.
His explanation for this is that he is a "jealous" god.
In being Jealous, god himself would have the commandment Thy shalt not covet.
Also, envy is one of the 7 deadly sins. So god himself is a sinner. Therefore god isn't perfect and omnipotent.
Talk amoungst yourselves.

"So god himself is a sinner. Therefore god isn't perfect and omnipotent."
WRONG!!!
the judeo-christian interpretation of god is wrong.
if i debunk a flat-earther that does not mean that earth does not exist, only that their interpretation of the earth is wrong.

God also commanded his Chosen People not to commit murder, but then sent them into Canaan to commit virtual genocide against the indigenous population.
Call it whatever you like, but once an Indo-European storm god, always an Indo-European storm god.

like wanting the faith that is directed at another god? they are basically the same thing
omnipotent means having unlimited power, unlimited ability, it really doesn't mean perfect. However, according to Christian beliefs (protestant anyway)this: The Holy Trinity is The Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost. If Jesus is God's son, and part of God as well, then how could Jesus be without sin? God never said he was perfect, but Jesus is supposed to be without sin, but if he was of God and the same as God--how could he be without sin?

first off he says you will have only me as a god, why? because he wants you to worship which indicates not that he is jealous but that you are to worship him and only him, therefore he is not under any circumstances bbeing a hypocrite..
crunk what you said is true but it is based on what perspective you are thinking if you think of it as "son of God" litterally then it doesn't work but if you think of God as nature and the way things should be and are. then everything changes.

You get around that simply by saying that such a God's rules are not subject to itself.
Then you get to preserve your belief in an irrational God.
My post disappeared...hmmm
now, I forgot what I said.

Well said. I'm so fucking sick of hearing people refer to the Christian interpretation of God as the only interpretation of God.... ugh, it really pisses me off.

God made the commandments. Now where you are the guy on top, you can spew any maxim/ axioms/ instructions that you want, and break them too, because, well, you are the boss.
