I don't think priests should get any special treatment at all for being pedophiles. It would be grossly unconstitutional if they did. I'm not very educated on this specific priest, but I do know he was given a private area in the prison for protection... Why does HE get special protection? It just doesn't seem right.

Dahmer was murdered in prison after he requested to be placed back in general population. One consistency with just about all prisoners is that a child's innocence is to be protected. That is something every sane human being understands.

I don't know enough about the man who took his life to say whether or not he is a neo-Nazi by his own undeserving proclamation, or if he was wrongly labeled by mass media, or both, or neither. Regardless of his background, it cannot be denied that the man did the world a favor.

Also, prison has two purposes: rehabilitation for the redeemable members of society, and exile for the hopeless ones. The emergence of child-raping priests has only been occuring within maybe the last 20 years. The church has existed since around 250 AD. The church is not to blame.
