Does anyone else hate church as much as me. it has to be the longest 45minutes of my life. Sometimes i get lucky and can blank out for the entire mass and other times all i can do is think about running up to the alter and beating up the priest so i can go home

Don't go, if you hate it so much.

you may hate church now because it's "boring" but when you get older you'll develop a whole new set of reasons to hate church, it gets so much worse. I stopped going to church when I realized that the only reason most people were there was to look good in the eyes of everyone else who attended... pathetic. I don't need to attend church with a bunch of assholes in order to have a good relationship with God.

I went to a black church once.

There were too many women dressed in extremely bright colors.

I think Jesus would have wholeheartedly disapproved.

If you hate it, but you still believe, just stay home and read the Bible instead. If your priest gives you crap tell him that you're searching for the truth yourself, and who are you to stop me, YOU SPIRITUAL FASCIST!!! After that he'll back off.

I believe church borders on the line of a parents authority. This is someones THEORY and OUTLOOK OF LIFE being put into your child's head, basically instructing them how they should look at life. It's not like telling your kid not to bring snakes in the house, it's something that can affect them in the long run.

Since so many parents believe christianity is beneficial, they don't see this as a problem at all. It sure is beneficial, if you never want to have to THINK again.

The Christian/Catholic church is simply comfort for the masses. I've been there a few times recently when I was hanging out with a christian friend of mine. It was sunday and he had to go for half an hour, so I went with him. It was dull, and they pretty much just said the same shit you can read in the bible, ANY day. What the fuck is church for, people who don't know how to read?

Im sure church isnt meant to suck this much. Im sure its meant to be a community of believers to encourage one another to carry on in faith even though things seem to be turning to shit. I reckon its a sin to present the bible as boring and irrelevant. If you remove the bullshit and see the underlying message, (trust me its still visible)I see how much God has been bastardised to suit mans ends. But the God I met, (dont scoff) hes cool and thinks Im pretty cool as well even through all the shit I pulled. Church sux because its a community of man, God isnt even second in the priorities of the church. My church is alone in my room searching the bible for something that resonates with me. Then I go and look for internet porn.

have u noticed that people who set out and do studies to disprove things in the bible have always been hushed and quited by the churches. i mean all church is, is a giant corporation. they hold at least 40 billion alone in revenues and 100 million in artwork and other material items of value.

if god (that is if there is one) meant for a religion i dont think he meant for it to be like this. the only reason cathlocism was followed so devoutly back in the day (meanings like way way way back early 1400's-1800's) was because catholics set out and killed all pegans meaning they killed all other religions. i guess it just became a habit. thats all it is, a habit.

also seeing how law does not interefere with state you have to go to church if your parents make you go. meaning even if u try to make a legal case about it theyll just say its ur parents rights (think this was stated in another post).

also just wanted to say that i bet the ammount of christians will go from about 70% of the world to prolly 30-40% in the next few years. just watch the next religious census.
