View Full Version : What do you have to lose?

So, you reject God all your life, you die, oops, you were wrong... there IS a God. But you rejected Him, no eternal life of bliss for you, you go to hell... suffering, burning, pain... ow.
OR, you don't reject God, you keep your mind open to the possibility that He exists, you say "sure" to His offer of eternal life. You die... oops, you were wrong... no heaven, no hell. Just decomposition... what have you lost? Your self respect? No, your odds were 50/50... other's respect? No, they don't know that you were wrong, for all they know you're in heaven.
So what do you lose?
Sure, blind faith in something that can neither be proven nor disproven is a tad on the difficult side... but when you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, is it really that bad?

so everybody say this at some point while you are still alive: "jesus, i accept you into my heart, save me from my sins, and more importantly, SAVE ME FROM HELL" (just in case christians are right and even though it LOOKS like utter nonsense you don't have to spend eternity in the fire pit)

I'll pass.
I think it's more likely that there's no God at all than there is the possibility of hell existing.

Hmm. You're saying if we reject him in the physical, we are doomed to an eternity of pain? Nope, I heard that's bullshit.
Burning...would you mind explaining to me how physical fire can harm our eternal non-physical body? Or is it spiritual fire? Or do you not know, or are you just going to make something up because christianity left it out of the bible?... I'm a little confused on that.

There you go. Have fun!

Ah, the age old christian argument of "what have you got to lose?" I believe that There is actually a giant floating penis above the world that you cannot percieve with your physical eyes. If you reject it, then after you die you will be destined for an eternity of it jizzing on you. To be saved from this, all you have to do is worship the giant invisible penis and say that you accept it into your heart (and asshole). What have you got to lose? Just try it! (I'm not atheist, not trying to be really offensive, just making an example here, using your logic.)
I find it funny christians believe that God thinks so primitively that simply physically SAYING you accept him into your heart and not really ACCEPTING him will get you saved. Because it's not like God can see what's really in our hearts and minds, right? "He" only hears what comes from our mouths. Are you suggesting we SAY "sure", not really giving a shit, or believe in what you want us to believe in? I'm a little confused

Yes, it is. You're suggesting people believe in something blindly. How blindly should we believe in it? Up to the point of where we believe in life after death or up until the point where we fill our heads with the bible and believe God despises women who wear men's clothing? (it says it, I read it myself.) to the point of where we stop living our fucking lives because we're now afraid that God will make us suffer for LIVING.
So which is it? God thinks primitively or we should live in fear?
No thanks, I'll pass on both.
By the way, there have been many exact copies of this thread before. This isn't new material. I understand what you're trying to do. I used to be christian. I know you're trying to spread the word and help get people to at least TRY to change their lives around. It's not going to happen, because christianity will NEVER open minds, it only keeps them closed shut.
My mind opened when I looked beyond christianity into things I was always afraid I'd suffer for even reading about. I've discovered this for myself, and it was a very sad, yet awakening experience. Sad that I believed those stupid primitive lies for so long. Awakening because I experienced a plane beyond the physical, successfully proving to myself it was there, and successfully proving to myself that no blind faith would ever be needed again.
Once again, I'm not an atheist or trying to get on your bad side, I just think the christian logic is very flawed and is not needed at all for eternal life. I'm just trying to get a debate going, because christians never seem to look at anything besides christianity and atheism, and they stick with preaching to atheists and atheists stick to arguing with them. I just feel like jumping in sometimes and saying "hey! Maybe there's a god, but christianity completely fucking lied about it!" Nobody seems to ever hear that, and it makes them think OUTSIDE of the two way argument. The only reason people don't think outside of that argument is because christianity is the most common religion in America, and why? Because they murdered everyone else who spoke against them, that's why.
I'm not afraid of hell, and IF christianity were right, it's ok. I wouldn't feel bad not "asking for forgiveness", because a God who would send me to suffer eternally for doing things in my physical nature WHICH "HE" DESIGNED is not a God I would ever even PRETEND to love, worship or spend any time learning about. The only reason I would worship "him" would be out of FEAR.
I will not live my life in fear.

Pascal's wager, aye?
Tell me then, which god should I follow? If I follow the wrong one, other gods would get pissed off and send me to their version of hell.

That's no good. The christian god alone would be on my case.

Pascal's Sucker Bet (http://www.jhuger.com/pascal.mv) isn't a valid argument for a plethora of reasons.
Mainly because you could substitute any deity, historical, known fiction, or made up on the spot, and restate the wager with the new deity on place and the old one evicted.

Well heres my 2 cents.
i read on a Occult thing explaining different gods and demons and it said this.
(if god/devil do exist heres wut i think)
belial rewards his own. belive in the devil.
so i think that if god will reward u in heaven with lil pansy stuff like eternal happiness why not worship the devil and get rewarded in hell wit tons of drugs, money and whores!
