View Full Version : A god theory based on parts of the dead sea scrolls that makes sense
I was watching a movie about a chick that got a stolen cross in the mail and started bleeding to death and it quoted part of the dead sea scrolls "turn a stone and I am there, split a log and I am there" and got to thinking that meant that god was where ou looked for him. so I took it a step further and realized that chaos was everywhere. It exists in everything, and can influence everything. the mear fact that life origenated from chaos supports the creation myth, so a consence created of it is probably possable. but you will realize that if you leave things purley to chance that bad things happen, and order is better. could it be that order came from chaos and is good, while chaos is evil. This also means that all religion is evil, and after seeing some of the things that it has acheaved this is not hard to beleve. I dont know what to make of this so please post any openions and inturpretations of this, as this is a pretty intresting support for atheism. also, I am not intintionally bashing any religion on purpose so please dont lock this topic, just tell me where I am wrong.

Edit: I claim to be an athiest because I never say my prayrs and think the book of relevation reads like a book written by a depressed horney dude who can't get any, so please don't claim I have a closed mind. I will be open to any ideas suggested in this topic, unless it involves incest or beastality.

You mgith want to actually find such a passage in the Dead Sea Scrolls before you go jumping to such conclusions.
Hollywood tends to like to make up stuff to make an entertaining movie, you see.
They get away with it because 99.999...% of the population seeing it hasn't read a word of the works in question.
alright, I will check my library sometime next week to see if I can find an english translation of it. so far no storm clouds have blown up, so I think I'm safe.

It actually is a very interesting collection of texts, though most of them are incomplete, due to the only copies being deteriorated from being lost for so long.
I especially like the gospel of Naphtali, mostly because I really dig that name. If I ever have a daughter, she's being named Naphtali, no question.
Of course, my dad says it sounds like a 'nigger name,' but fuck my dad. It's straight up Israeli.

"It is I who am the light which is above them all. It is I who am the all. From me did the all come forth, and unto me did the all extend. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there." (Jesus/YHSVH - Gospel of Thomas V.77) http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/gthlamb.html

And because certain church leaders would be out of a job if it became public knowledge. The Copper Scroll is complete, I think, but it's rotting in some university basement. Actually, maybe I'm thinking of a different scroll.
Christ, I'm hungover. We'll talk about this after I get a cup of coffee and a couple Lucky Strikes in my system.
think you, redzed, for saving me some time. now about ten minutes after I posted this topic I thought some more about this, and I kinda have to contradict my first post because the chaos operates on strict laws of physics. so a kind of order is everywhere too. I dont feel like typing several pharagraphs about this right now and I figure from this you can draw your own conclusions, but if the chaos theory is right and my understanding of this also is, then it could evplain all the omni______ charicteristics that he is supposed to have. have fun!
edit: does anybody know if adam and eve had navals?
