You're right, I think most people, Christians and non-Christians alike, are beginning to acknowledge that the traditional physical representation of Christ has always been a bit skewed more than likely. Although, there are very early paintings of him though from the second century on that do depict Jesus in a similar manner, so who knows for sure.

All I know for sure is that the Ugly Fish is the One True God, and that we must bow to him like it or not. Jesus was just trying to cut in on the Fish's action.

There is absolutely no way Jesus was the blonde haired, blue eyed, pale skinned Aryan posterboy certain pictures make him out to be. The Hebrews at the time probably looked a lot more like Arabs than anyone else, keeping in mind the common ancestry, area of adaption, etc. There aren't any "pure" Hebrews left, so no one can be certain, but the evidence definitely suggests that they were probably Arabesque, and maybe even the same race. However, there's no certainty that Arabs, or as they were called then, Ishmaelites, look the same as modern day Arabs. Two thousand years is enough time for a significant adaption in skin colour and other features.
