I wasn't brought up to be religious. The only times I had previously been to church is at school outings and such.
Recently, maybe about a year or so, I have been drawn to churches. What I mean by that is, I picture myself sitting in the church, just meditating, doing/thinking nothing in particular...Just the 'act' of it.
Ayone else experienced this? Any thoughts, questions?

Well, there is that...
I wouldn't go in when there is anyone else there, I picture myself there alone.
So. Go sit in a church and see how it feels.

I was always taught to belive in god but the concept of the way I (mis)understood it, It all seemed too mystical to be real. I had imagined heaven as like this place in the clouds, which lead me to eventual (around the age of 20 or so) disbelief. I am now 26 and around roughley 2 yrs ago I have had several thoughts or revalations that have lead me to understand things which I had never considered or had any idea of. After each of these experiances I did reseach on my ideas and found an amazing amount of material that delt with these very concepts that had come to me of my own personal exploration of mind, which has lead me to belive there are truths to these things because only after I experianced these understandings did I actually find any material that supports my theories of existance.
This is just my personal experiance, I would recomend you follow up on & resaerch any fellings or ideas you may have about such things as they may be what you are seeking.
Or not, but you never know.
