first off- the satanic religion isnt the worst thing in the universe. if you read the satanic bible, you will see that the only "rules" are not to harm other humans. it isnt, kill goats at an alter and that bullshit, its live your life how you want to and dont worry about what will happen because its what you want and how you live your life that really matters, living through someone elses guidelines is bullshit, why waste your life over it, enjoy it you only get one.

anyway, i was wondering- if someone says you are satanic, doesnt that mean you believe in the god-faring religions as well? since it was those religions who made-up satan to act as someone for humans to fear... or a reason to go to churches and such.

A lot of Satanic religions are merely symbolic. The people choose Satan because he is the opposing force of the Christian God, which they do not believe in, thus they challenge and mock the idea of Christianity itself - not literally worship Satan.

That's just like saying a Christian believes in Satan, which isn't necessarily true. Christianity is in such a state of shambles that if someone tells me "I'm a Christian" they might as well be telling me "I'm a human"

i dont understadn why you would wana damn yourself to hell by worshipping satan, but it is interesting to hear wut ppl have to say about it. i have looked over the satanic bible and it just doenst make sense to me. they just believe in the opposite of the bible, its fuckin dumb if u ask me but i respect anyones beliefs

I gathered from it, that the point of Satanism is to live the opposite of the Christian ideals of being humble, subservient, kind, and forgiving even when it causes hardships for yourself. Essentially, you live for yourself and are only kind when it doesn't harm you. It's a system of greed, self-preservation, and self rule rather; opposing Christian's preserving others over self and giving the rule of your life to God. Good way to live the high life I guess. I find Satanism and Christianity to both be out of my taste these days. I'm not selfless nor greedy enough to be either one.

Modern Satanism is worshipping and seeing yourself as a God. Not actually woshipping "Satan" as a deity, although some do.

OK maybe you havent been paying attention. satanists dont believe in a heaven and hell, so why would they be afraid of going to either? you don't worship satan, you are your own god. devil-worship is entirely different from satanism and i wish people understood that.

First, There are two forms of "Satanism". The first was created by LaVay in the 60's and is atheistic. The second (forgot who the founder is...) is "Setian" satanism (Circa 1975, they split off LaVeys group) who worhip the personification of evil. Whereas in LaVeyic they have nothing to worship (I belive worship is centered around the ancient Egyptian god Set, god of destruction).

Second, I really don't have any qualms with LaVey's "Satanic Commadments". It is true as he says, we are animals no better no worse and their is no reason to deny our instincts and urges, even though we may be able to reason in the abstract.

what i think is funny about the 60's version of it...think thats the one... is the fact that they are serious all through it then they go on about vampires.

Isn't the whole LaVey satanism thing just a bunch of bullshit compared to real satanism? I may be wrong, but I think I remember reading that LaVey's 'Satanic Bible' had very little to do with real satanism as real satanism had to do with worshipping satan and evil, and doing things like sacraficing goats and odd thigns like that.

I could be wrong though.

Actually Antony LaVey created "satanism" in 1966. His "cult" was more of a philosophical group that attempted to mock Christians than anything you might consider "evil". In 1975 LaVey came forth and said that the physical entity of satan didn't exist (which should have been pretty damn obvious to his followers since the second satanic statment of his attacks theists) this caused the theistic "satan worshippers" to form their own church. Their church, founded that same year, was called the temple of Set. Set is an ancient egyptian deity who could be considered "evil" (due to his role in various myths). They worship him and a wide array of others who would be considred evil. Complementing this is the use of ritual magik (this is where all the animal sacrifice rumors come to play). Animal sacrifice is only done by the type described below.

Sadly most modern day satanists are just pouty teenagers looking for attention. They havn't the slightest idea of the origin of their "religion". Their content with worshipping Marilyn Manson as a symbol of their "rebellion" against society. They try to do things that they think is evil, like animal sacifice, but only in a happhazard way. (this is what draws a clear distinction in the animal sacrifice of Vodun and other primal african religious practitioners and the so called satanists)



There is some truth to be found in satansim.One of these truths comes from satanic statment seven which reads

of course this is LaVeyic, because of its philosophical applications (as opposed to Setian dogma). I would be happy to debate the validity of the statment. Also I enjoy their reverence of pleasure as opposed to Abrahamic religion.
