some one claimed to find it in some mountains in that general area...but it's like looking at clouds-you start to see things that aren't really there.

I also saw pics people claimed to be of noahs ark... lmao... those were just about as fake looking as the pictures of the man on the moon... but with the whole measurements.. im thinking noahs ark WOULD have been like a rectangular prism..? I heard a discussion on it, but havent thought about it since I heard it, and i have been high since then.. the whole flood thing cracks me up tho.

I watched a special on Noahs Ark. It basically said that if it rained that much to flood the earth, the atmosphere would have so much water in it you would drown trying to breath.

If it did happen (which I doubt)

wouldnt it be possible that it merely flooded the small part of the earth where all the biblical stuff was meant to take place? just my thoughts

If so, the flood would have to have reached its peak hieght in mere seconds, and fallen in mere seconds, before the water dispersed over the Earth's surface. Even if the icecaps completely melted, there would not be enough water to cover the highest mountains...the story is so unreal that even when I was a firm believer of Christianity, it reeked of bullshit.

O.K, can someone please give me some details on the most recent "finding"?

I am sick of conversations that go;

Me; So... Noahs ark....everyone died.....bummer

Random Christian; Hey! don't take the piss! they found it you know.

Me; Are we talking about the finding by some guy who had never even traveled to turkey?

Random Christian; O.K, so we messed up once, but this time its real

Me; Can I see it?

Random Christian; *mumbles something about 'border of Israel', 'muslims', 'government coverups'*

"They" think "they" found Noah's Ark at the bottom of the Dead Sea. Carbon dating dates it back to the supposed time (apparently it's been preserved by the salinity and lack of oxygen on the abyss of the Dead Sea). It has Hebraic carvings of phrases and names and also has carvings of many different species of animal. And when I saw footage of it it was pretty massive. I wouldn't be surprised if it could've contained two of many many species.

I don't know if I totally believe that this is Noah's Ark, but I'm not outruling the possibility.

Cheers,

The story of noah was actualy a summuranian story that the jews addopted to add onto the bible. There was a flood but it only happened in a small area, and noah was actualy a rich guy selling lifestock and trade.

You can read about that in 'Isaac Asimov's Guide to Earth and Space' < good books for nerds out there like me.

"In ancient times when people could only move about on foot and didn't travel much, it was assumed that the world was very small, and that only one's region existed. That is why when in 2800 b.c. there was a tremendous flood in the Tigris and Euphrates river valley. The sumeritans who lived there thought the entire world was flooded, and that naive notion has become the bible tale of Noahs Flood."

I thought it was rather interesting when I read it.
