Had a convo with a girl on MSN tonight about Christianity and Athiesm. Heres the convo

NOTE: I am a christian, even though it may not look like it in this convo. and its REALLY LONG.

The ending is rather dull, we just go on about the cross and what it really means. The girl seemed pretty biased to me. she refuses to even look at people of other relgions and believes anyone whose not christian will go to hell. That's probb the biggest part....

She seems to me like the type of person who was told from birth that the bible is the word of God. She doesn't seem to understand that the bible isn't evidence of God existance, but rather a claim. But chances are she'll never see that.

Here's something to put through your noggin.

Christianity forces you to believe that Jesus is above you, that you are not special enough to go to heaven, by yourself, separating you from thinking you have any good in you.

Christianity forces you to believe that you are inherently evil, further increasing my first point.

Religion says that heaven is separate from here, and for the most part, You ain't goin there. This creates fear, and is a great way to get people to listen to you.

I would like her to show me this proof that christianity is right. There is no proof of god. There is strong factual evidence to support evolution. How can you take the word of a book made thousands of years ago, that has been translated dozens of times, and most likely changed considerably from the original. How do you know that the bible isn't just a fiction story like The Lord of the Rings? What would you think if three thousand years from now a bunch of nutters praised The Lord Of The Rings?

Seriously, women are stupid (Boo! Hiss! I can feel the flames coming on) but men are naturally decisive, logical and individual, showing strength in will where as women are more like "huh?" and soft and undecisive and illogical. Thank you very much! Whenever I get into a heated argument, I have to look like I know what I'm talking about. Plus, I barely use internet slang. I can actually type out words, like before (b4) and you (u). And I havent said LOL in about 2 years.

I have many reasons for not believing in a god. Yeah, Christians need to learn in what situations the bible is relevant in a philosophical discussion. You can't say "Genesis proves God exists" and a lot of people don't realize that because they assume that the bible is truth.

That said, i think a lot of you guys aren't being fair to this girl. She's obviously not the type who debates with learned people. I'm not sure how you should treat her because i know Atheists and philosophers like to know all the facts and she obviously doesn't, which means she's ripe for a "make her faith come crashing down" session. I'm not sure what would be fair, but i don't think it's posting her conversations for a bunch of people probably smarter and more well-read than her to pick apart. I guess some people just like to believe what people they respect (probably her parents) believe.

honestly, what is with you people and brainwashing? the catholic church nor do parents brainwash children, there is such a thing known as confirmation where there is a choice of whether you would like to be an adult in the church, or whether to leave it.
