I saw this on Dogma, all be it a wierd and somewhat flase way of putting the catholic church, it shows the hristian church from a very different perspective.

And yes we do, we morn our saviors death every sunday, every time you prayu, and everytime u look at a crucifix, you know that some1 died on, it, and your death aint too far away.

I am wondering about the changing of out religion? Can we celebrate Jesus as a joy giving member of a group of 13 or as a guy nailed to a cross, with little and all hope of surviving it.

Personally, I think it's damn creepy that the symbol most associated with Christianity is a device used for torture and execution.

I mean, imagine if they went around with nooses around their necks. Morbid...

The lack of enrichment of my life was actually what drove me to denounce Judaism. I found that all Judiac and Christian holidays are about remembering something bad that's happened.

So, I still continue the traditions simply for cultural reasons, but I only celebrate pagan holidays.

They're the only good ones.

Firstly imagine how much pain and suffering Jesus went through to save us. Most Christian holidays are celebrations. Christmas is the celebration of Jesus's birth easter is the Celebration of His ressurection not death. And in his ressurection he finally won victory over death. The cross os a symbol of how Jesus suffered for us but also shows how he eventually won over death and that is why it isnt morbid

As I'm sure you are aware of, Christianity assimilated many a pagan holiday when Constantine declared it the official religion of Rome and the Pagan converts didn't want to give up their holidays.

Yes, I know Christianity took a bunch of good pagan holidays and crapped them up so now they all have lame meanings.

*personal opinion*
