God created evil because he created the fruit and everything in it, that he, according to the christian idea, knew would be eaten of. so after adam and eve disobey God he gets pissed off and curses the human race. now we are held responsible for something we didn't do! damnit, you dont get pissed at a kid for something his dad did. i mean, come on dude. and according to christianity God knows everything yatta yatta. so why did he fucking make us in the first place? doesn't that make this whole mess his fault!? and supposively satan and God both tempt and humble us, so God's no better than Satan? is Satan really that bad? according to the 10 commandments God is jealous, maybe he's jealous of Satan. maybe hell will be cooler than its claimed to be. maybe the

bible is just a bunch of propaganda bullshit. when you read it it sounds like something that would have worked perfectly to keep the anceint jews and christians in line. my friends can never answer these questions. they simply say "it's beyond human comprehension" bull fucking shit dude! how the fuck does God expect me to believe something that i have no proof of? i find it much more comforting that i will go completely out of existence than go live with some jack ass in heaven that kills his creation constantly yet claims he loves them. atheism makes so much more sense.

edit-God, if you exist, i am so pissed at you. give me a reason to not and i wont, im waiting... you asswhipe

Actually, Christianity doesn't make much sense when you think about it. The faithfull are not supposed to think.

Gnosticism makes sense to me.

Gnosticism is pathetic. "I don't know" is not an acceptable answer. Believing in just about nething is better than just sitting on ur ass and not having the balls to figure out a point of view for yourself. That's my opinion neway.

In my opinion the bible was someones slick idea of starting a new society that was different from all those that came before it. They people expected god to be a bitch, thats just what they expected, the requirments are good requirments if you lived whenever b.c. It isnt a terrible religion if you like that kind of stuff. Most people don't. Join the sweet omnist religion. You can believe whatever you like, you can just take what you like from any religion you like. The requirments are: you have to want to be in, and you have to keep an open mind(because it isnt likely you will figure everything out on your first try...or ever).

You really have no idea what gnosticism is, do you? What you're describing is agnosticism - big difference.

i think christianity and the bible was a slick way to gain control over people and brainwash them into following orders and making the clergy money.

You shouldn't have problems with christianity you should chose if it is your god or not. I am not meaning to flame it is just if christianity isn't your religion than don't follow it and have problems about it just don't call it bullshit. I think it was Tecumsa who said Is it possible that our god has given each of us a faith that we would believe (something like that) Believe the bible or not it doesn't matter which religion you chose just have faith in the belief you chose and please don't call other peoples religion bullshit it can be insulting. God made us and let us free. He let us make mistakes and gave us consequinces. The Garden of Eden was a test of humanity. Humanity, having free will, could not stand the temptation to break gods trust and eat the apple. Think of it this way, Your child want to become a famous baseball player you put him in the little league and than he does something bad. You punish him by taking away baseball. He could later become a proffesional ball player and make money for his children and life would be easier for them. Adam and Eve were same situation. You also said maybe "hell will be cooler than its claimed to be" Not all christian faiths believe in Hell. The 10 commandments didn't say god was jealous it said you should worship him above everything else. It means if you want to follow that religion have faith in him and him alone. At least that is my interpretation. I have never really gone to a church, i have never seen passion of the christ, and i have never had any religious classes in school so if any of this is incorrect it is my incorrect interpretation of what i have read.

Ok, but why did God give us the freedom to chose anyways? He wanted to make it easier for us o go to Hell? That's pretty lame dude...

Exodus 20, 5:

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve the: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God.

Jealous of what?

- Gnosticism is basically a form of Christian Manicheanism, for lack of a better term. It holds that the True God never created a physical universe, but instead simply presided over a spiritual cosmos. However, a being called the Demiurge (the Lesser Power) created a material universe to worship him. Salvation is achieved by transcending the physical universe and returning to God's perfect spiritual Creation. That's Gnosticism.

- There's a great body of evidence saying that Christianity began as a Jewish resistance movement, or the exact opposite of how you describe it. You make it sound like a bunch of guys just got together and made Christianity up to fool people. It was a bit more complicated than that, m'kay?

- To the gentleman who started this thread, yes, Christianity does seem a bit muddled on Good and Evil. Remember, it's largely a jumble of Judaism (where God kind of seemed to have wanted Adam and Eve to eat the apple, and Satan is just an angel who does his dirty work) and such faiths as Zoroastrianism and the Greek Mysteries (which embrace a more dualistic view of the universe). It doesn't all fit together perfectly all the time.
