Whenever you hear someone say that they fear death, it is not truly death that they fear it is the thought that they will no longer be able to do all that they hoped for in life.

If you live this life to the fullest you will not fear death because when the time comes you won't even know. It'll all just be over. Don't fear the reaper.

alot of people fear dying because of the pain involved.

religious people fear having to go to hell or something because of their sins, which makes them do dumb stuff in life because their leaders tell them they'll go to hell if they don't; like 'kill all the infidels'

i don't wanna die cos I've still got things to do and I'm having too much fun

I don't know--people tend to fear what they don't know, right? And people have no clue what's going to happen after death....

I wish I remember who said the following:

"If death is, then I am not. If I am, than death is not. Why should I fear what cannot exist when I do?

What dies? Does one single atom perish?

When I refer to death I mean the ending of ones conciousness. Remember the saying 'I think therefore I am' Well I believe that to be true so if you don't think than you don't exsist. I guess that would kind of include some of the "living" as well.

Some people are able to not have dreams for long periods of time, and some ppl often black out and lose complete consciousness. No thinking at all. Does that constitute death?

I think it's cause we don't think about death that it scares us so much.

so true

people are afraid of no longer exsisting, but little do we relize, that death is a gift, and fear of no longer exsisting (wether or not you believe in afterlife) is just your animal instinct of survival, survival so you can live longer to fuck more people and make sure your species continues. just like any other animal, its just a human consciousness version of survival instinct.

I wouldnt say I'm afraid, im acutally kind of excited to see what happens after this life..however im not implying that I want to die right now, im just curious what will happen after death.

I hope that when my time comes I will have done everything that I have wanted to in this life and have nothing else to look forward to. Depending on what happens I will look at death as either the begining of a new adventure or the final ending.

Is it that they weren't thinking, or was it that they just couldn't remember.

Have you noticed that it's usually harder to remember thoughts you had when you were in deeper states of consciousness.
