Every thread here has a new definition for atheists, agnostics, etc. I'll give you the real definitions.

Atheist- Someone who doesnt believe in god. When an atheist is asked, "Do you believe in god?" They will reply, "No."

Weak atheism- See above.

Strong atheism- When posed the question, "Do you believe in god?" A strong atheist will reply, "God does not exist."

** Its really that simple.

Agnostic- Someone who believes that the existance of god is unknowable. When an agnostic is asked, "Do you believe in god?" They will reply, "I dont know."

Theist- Someone who believes in god. When asked, "Do you believe in god?" A theist will respond "Yes."

Is that fucking clear enough for all of you?

In review, Do you believe in god?

Atheist: No.

Agnostic: I dont know.

Theist: Yes.

What the hell? I though Agnosticism was when they acknowledge that a God exists, just dont give a fuck about it.

You thought wrong. An agnostic is simply someone who thinks that it cannot be determined either way.

I simply want to know why your definitions are the most valid. And translation doesn't really make those definitions any more valid than any others. Common usage over time has given the words their meaning. Tell me why your direct translation would be more valid.

I'm not sure I'd agree that they've gotten new meanings over time. As far as I remember the word 'atheist' quite literally means 'without theism.'

They're valid because they're right. This is what the words were intended to mean. The only way they get new translations is when people here post stuff like, "Well atheists say god probably doesnt exist."

Lookup every possible definition of atheist, theist, and agnostic and they'll all translate into the definitions I've given.

Personally, the definitions you put forth are nearly, if not exactly, the same as those I use.

However, I've found it far easier to establish a definition as I debate with someone; the people you're trying to reach are unlikely to take this thread in, anyway.
