who else here on totse thinks that ALL religons are wrong? yea the morals they teach are right,but to think that theres a "satan" or that "god" is this dude sittin on a cloud sending people to ETERNAL DAMNATION just for murder or something equaly minascule.im not sayin murder is a good thing but it doesnt diserve that kind of punishment.anyway,what i believe in is,as ive said before,infinity.everything exisits.there is no "wrong" that we can do.for one,it was supposed to happen if it did.and two,you could say we are here to learn.i dont think any "god" would be so quik to judge a human being like that.even i have more compasion for life than that.i wouldnt even send hitler to hell.for all we know he had a chemical imbalance in his brain which made him think they way he did.we werent created perfectly therefor we cant be expected to BE perfect.

Their morals aren't right, nor is their dogma. If their morals were correct, humanity would not be at the top of the food chain; we would be too focused on helping everything rather than fighting for the top spot. Morals are a hinderance to the position as gods of this world. A question remains though: is it better to reign as supreme gods of the Earth, or to have our emotions and moral systems intact?

Myself, I enjoy hate, love, suffering, pleasure, and most other dualities. I would have to say I prefer the flawed humanity we have, which happens to be perfection for me. Some would like a completely sterile world in which every lives until they're 150, no drugs remain, no murders occur...yadda yadda. Neither one is wrong, nor right; morals are subjective, therefor religion's morals are not right anymore that a serial killer's.

I have to agree with you MNI, there is no "God" sitting on a cloud judging people to heaven or hell. But I don't think that the morals of major world religions are wrong. If they were, society just would be able to work. I agree with how you base your beliefs around modern physics, but I'd have to ask you to open your mind to new ideas a little more. I also think that it is interesting how Quantum Physics and Eastern Mysticism are becoming more alike everyday. If you want to learn more about this I'd suggest reading "Zen and The Art of Motorcylce Mechanics" it really opened up my mind to a whole new world of spirtuality. I hope you don't think I'm some "Jesus Freak" trying push my views on you, I just think that knowledge is one of the greatest tools a person can have.

Well it depends what religion youre talking about in terms of morals, buddhism probably kicks all other religions' asses in that respect. The reason i gave up religion is because i felt that i was better off without it. I dont like the idea of people controlling my mind, which IS BEING DONE EVERY TIME YOU GO TO MASS. Its too orwellian and scares the fuck out of me. In terms of an omniscient being deciding our eternal fate in terms of purgatory of eternal bliss, the idea is probably legible to some people, preposterous to others. Theres no point worrying about it, because youll never know until you are in that situation, or if youre ever in that situation. I dont agree with god and satan as such, but i model my beliefs on the what i know of satan. i dont make sacrifices or any of that other horseshit. I model my beliefs on the basis that i question authority, and i dont accept what is told to me unless I decide its right. Also theres the whole aspect of sensualism, ie. instead of living in restraint under god, live the way lucifer did/(does?) and indulge in every new experience you can. Life is too short to confine your experiences a closed minded set of beliefs.

So in that way, religion has been good for me. I dont believe in it, but i model my beliefs on a religious character.
