Sinners?
Love is a perfectly acceptable reason reason to "Sin"

How so are they sinners? They fell in love, respectfully dueled to several deaths, two suicides, and some disobedience. According to satanism, buddhism, taoism, nordic, and greek religions, none of those are sins if done for the empowerment of the self through the flow of nature. However, looking at it through the optacles of a modern cookie-cutter religion it could be considered sinful. Which view are you looking at them from? I don't see anything in the story as wrong, though my morals are quite different from most people's (practically none on my part).

He's probably looking at sin through the goggles of Christiany, due to his reference to Hell; although, he does state that Hell may not exist, so maybe not.
I'd need more specifics as well, otherwise, I'll agree with Hexadecimal.
On a side note: Hex, I'm sorry if I pissed you off. Don't hate me, eh? I still love you (in one of those non-sexual ways). http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

I understand what you mean by the reference to Hell...though if he asks if people think they are sinners, chances are that he's just taking a heavily moralistic viewpoint on 'sin', not necessarily a judeo-christo viewpoint on wrong doings.
By the way, you didn't piss me off...the argument was absolutely retarded though; I was bothered by it being 2 pages of the thread with nothing but bickering, hehe.

isn't suicide a sin? If so then the religion u left out, makes them sinners.

I was using religions that don't view suicide as a sin to make a point that not everyone views the same things as sin; hell, some of those don't even consider cold-blooded murder a sin...four of them don't even have a concept a sin...good and bad perhaps, or maybe going against the natural flow, or going against a specific god, but going against one god may support another.

And don't worry, I'm just being facetious to an extent.
Both R & J were Catholics.
In both the period that Willie wrote the play, and also in the eyes of the Catholic Church today, yes they would have been sinners.

Jesus and Optimus Prime...God, you people are foolish. The OP is perfect.

Well, although Optimus Prime was undoubtably perfect, he wasn't exactly a person, so my statement still stands.

How can you say that suicide and murdering out of revenge is not a sin? I understand how murdering out of self defense is not. Also, i dont think there is a hell because i am atheist i was just wondering what you all thought about romeo and juliet and how they were all supposed to be christians back in that time because they were nobles, yet they sin with each other by fighting on streets over nothing more than a biting the thumb gesture(flipping someone off).
