I am trying to write a book with a Occult theme, so i've tried googling for some Occult research but keep gettting panzy wannabe sites. So I turn to you people hoping atleast one of you has something legit. And by that I mean something that wasn't created by your wierd goth friends. If you know of a rare book store that carries the real deal please post or e-mail me.

First of all, it's best to write about things you know about.

Second of all, the occult is a pretty wide description. There's all kind of beliefs, religions, practices, etc... that the occult embody. Witch craft alone has countless systems, most pagan religions are considered occult, anything having to do with mediums is occult. Also, anything X file is considered occult. X creatures, phenomenon, natural anamolies, certain forms of meditation, levetation, voodoo, vampires, zombies, shaman, Native American rituals (of which are countless).

You have to narrow it down a bit and then may be I can suggest some reading material.

OK sorry about being so vague, my bad. lets try german or eastern europens occult orgins. the main charaters are of ancestory from that area, so iam trying to get some actual legands about evils and shit, the stuff folk would use to scare the kids. Crazy monster stuff.

Just do searches for Germanic/Teutonic mythology. The ancient Germanic tribes shared the same gods as the pagan Vikings, so read up on the Eddas and Sagas.

Try googling "occult beliefs" for the origin and time you're looking for. Like "occult seventeenth century German vampires". Or whatever it is you want.
