well the best thing to do to learn about the bible...is read the ermm...bible?? try to get an edition that hasnt been changed from the original in its meaning. most books about the bible are in fact, biased towards whatever religion produced them. it takes a while, but reading it yourself is the only way to go.

Please, if you want to understand God, don't study xianity. Pleeeeease!!!

Unless there's some other reason you want to study it.

The answers to life are not provided in xianity.

he's right. i havent seen a christian religion that hasnt royally fucked the bible and made about 100 contradictions with it, all to keep power to themselves.

you really wanna know the bible? either find a totally non-biased scholar of the bible, or study it yourself and learn it that way.

From a christian perspective:

a recent translation of the bible (NIV, CEV, Good News, Message etc)

Mere Christianity- C.S. Lewis

Cost of Discipleship (Nachfolge)- D. Bonhoeffer (This is pretty heavy, but excellent)

Basic Christianity- John Stott

More Than A Carpenter- J.McDowell

You should be able to find these in any university library... hope that helps
