View Full Version : Why did God wait thousands of years before he made Jesus?

Civilazation had been around thousands of years before ol' Jesus showed up. Why was there the wait? If Jesus was sent here to die for our sins and all that good stuff, why did he not appear in the very beginning in Egyptian or Sumerian times? That doesn't seem very logical for God to say "i'm gonna wait a while before i save some souls". But then again, nothing pretaining to God seems very logcal.... Oh yeah, what about the other civilations of people during the time of Christ, like the dynastys set up in China, and the Mayans' in South America? Why wasn't the word of Jesus sent to every part of the world? Does God not like Asians and Americans indians or something?

It's a shame nobody's responded to this, Wrist. These are great questions. I'm a Christian and I've often wondered these things myself. quote:Originally posted by WristSlitter:

I'm not saying it's logical, because I don't know God's plan behind it. But why would it seem illogical, given that you know absolutely nothing about God's intentions towards creating Jesus? quote:Originally posted by WristSlitter:

I wouldn't chalk racism up to God. I imagine Jesus was revealed in Israel because it was the same place Judaism began.

It's beyond question that many civilizations have come and gone without ever hearing a word about God or Christ. But that does not mean they are destined for Hell. God's judgement will be fair.

This is a problem only when Men add there own doctrine to the bible, it makes it confusing. Hell doesnt exist, its a doctrine of men, not a biblical teaching. So before Jesus came along- nobody was in hell, no-ones ever going to be there. It doesnt exist. The bible states "the living are conscious that they will die, but the dead are conscious of nothing at all".

When Jesus appeared, it didnt matter to the dead-they are to be rescued from death in the future. Also Jesus told his disciples to go and preach to all the nations, so thats why you got men like Paul, and the apostles walking all over as far as they could go.

The Civilisations that didnt get a chance to know about God or Jesus-they will be ressurected and given a chance to prove themselves during the great ressurection.

This all makes a lot more sense if you havent been brought up on Mens doctrines on the bible, as the bible is very clear on all these topics.
