Okay I am in a rock band and soon we are making a cd and my friend wants to put a little decal of the crucifix with a guitar around it

I myslef think that this is a very bad idea and that one should not alter this holy symbol in any way(I am relegious)And that putting a guitar around a crcifix is wrong even if its not meant to have a deeper meaning,he juts thinks it looks cool.

I am worried alot about what other people will think of this,I can see lots of people thinking it to be very offending.

so what do you guys think??

No. 1: The origin of the cross' significance is Celtic pagan

No. 2: Even if it's origin was, indeed, messianic it states very clearly in the bible not to worship idols or symbols.

No. 3: That aside it was what Jesus supposedly died on not Jesus.

No. 4: Many gentile sects believe setting the cross on fire is paying homage to it, by setting it free.

No. 5: There's nothing evil about the guitar and I believe that music is the communication of spirit.

No. 6: If it's that big a deal, I'd just junk the whole idea and start from scratch. A cross with a guitar around it is super cheesy anyways.

Crucifix with a weeping cobra wrapped around it with severed wings...now that would be fucking kickass. A guitar around a cross though? What the fuck?

Well, you could do that, some people will be offended, just how some people are offended by my skin color...now think somewhat rationally here...would God REALLY care if you made Jesus holding a musical instrument? I think he's got more important things on his mind...

Yeah, I believe some catholics will be offended. I see nothing wrong with it though.

It is simple - if you don't like it, convince your friend it is a bad idea, don't pay much attention to what other people think, most of them will misunderstand you no matter what you do.

My opinion is that Aerosmith doesn't rock.
