www.google.com (http://www.google.com) Seek and ye shall find http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

You can find an actual study on it that debunks it if you look for it. I think even snopes has something on it.

To help though: basically, the guy who 'proved' this used a poorly scaled bed and had no definite time of death.

(In essence, his experiment is discounted due to being poorly performed).

Yes, they should do it again; the results would be interesting either way.

Plus the original experiment had a sample size of 6 people. Hardly convincing.

Snopes has got a good page (http://www.snopes.com/religion/soulweight.asp) on it.

That doesn't really surprise me. In addition, it might be interesting to know that people in their moment of death sometimes (often ? always ? I don't know.) have peculiar bodily reactions, such as defecating or urinating. My guess is that those 21 grams are easily explained otherwise than through the loss of a heavy soul.

Heh, I find it funny that even the Yanks use metric for their drugs (and so think that anything using metric has something to do with them).

The defacetion happens because the muscles that hold shit in relax and out pours everything that was held in. Your asshole puckers because the same part of your brian that tell your lungs to breath, tells it to pucker. It's very common. I had a friend who grew up in a funeral home, i learned some wierd things and was kind of spooked to go over to his house.

the defecations were left on scale during the weighing.

I guess Guillermo Arriaga Jordan(21 grams screenwriter) feels pretty dumb now.

He made money off of bullshit and people's succeptability towards it...I bet he feels people who took his script as anything worthwhile are the dumb ones.
