Does any1 know any good bible scriptures that bring up confusion or dont make sense?

try 1 Samuel 28:7 , King Saul wonders why the spirit of God left him so he goes to a witch and has her bring up the spirit of the dead prophet and former mentor, Samuel. Samuel then makes the prophecy that David is the new king and that Saul must die.

this story often turns people away from the bible. in fact, saul had lost gods backing as king of isreal, so saul had no divine protection. think about it this way-all your life you had god helping you to make descisions, then this suddenly goes-so he is lost and goes to the next best thing he can find. a witch. demons used this to appear as samuel and give a prediction to him that he would die. but we know this wasnt god as the prophecy wasnt fully fullfilled.

according to "samuel" all his sons would die in the battle, but one or two lived through it. the prophecy wasnt fully fullfilled, so wasnt gods prediction.

also saul didnt see "samuel"...the seance described him and saul beleived it to be him.this samuel was a spirit creature pretending as to stumble belivers in the bible.

If you read the scripture, it is very clear that this is actually Samuel's spirit. Don't take the Bible for what it isn't.

What is wrong with the spirit of Samuel making a false prophesy? You make it sound as if he were to lie then he must be a demon. Mighty assumptive of you, me thinks.

You could probably find a scripture in the New Testament about how mediums only brought up demons, not real spirits. But the basis of this is in the old Testament. The old Jewish people were often surrounded by all these pagan gods. They thought they really existed, just that their own YHWH was more powerful than all the rest.

Take the examples in the story of Moses. First, YHWH defeated all the greatest Egyptian gods with the ten plagues. And remember the Egyptian magi? They had powers just like Moses, but his were greater. They turned all their staves into snakes, then Moses turned his into one too. Then his ate all the others. YHWH supreme.

Then there are all the times the Jewish people turned away from God, worshiping the pagan gods. Why would they become polytheistic if they didn't think they were real? Have you ever heard of any rational person believing in Greek mythology and polytheism after being a Christian? I sure haven't.

I just looked at the other side of the contradiction list.

Now that I think about it... this probably has something to do with the multiple writers of the Old Testament.
