first off-if anything in here is wrong PLEASE correct me, i am in NO WAY a professional, or even a student in the subject, so if you know what youre talking about, PLEASE correct me. but hold back the flaming, i dont give a fuck what you think if youre not gonna correct my errors.

ok, starting off the way the universe works is that time is directly related to speed or movement.

so if youre moving fast, you age faster(time goes faster) than people moving slower

if youre moving slower, you age slower(time passes slower) than people moving faster.

so youll live longer if youre not moving as much. now this doesnt mean vegitating in your chair, because the universe is constantly moving, the earth is going around the sun, and the galaxy is flying through space.

but if you manage to slow down somehow--

time feels the same to you, so you only have lets say 75 years of time to think, act whatever, but in your 75 years the rest of the world has gone through many 75 year generations, so it really doesnt matter and is worthless unless you want to be spiteful and come back and piss on your best friends great grandson's grave. youre life doesnt feel longer, but compared to everyone else you lived "longer"

now how this means anything about religion--

if im thinking right, this proven fact means if your not moving at all, time doesnt move, and the only way to not be moving AT ALL is to not have mass.

sooooo-to tie in eternal life with science, it means you have to believe that you will have consciousness without mass, you have to be able to think (i think therefore i am) without a body or brain or anything.

so if after you die, if you still have conciousness, then by science you will live "forever"

NOTE-- i dont necesarily believe this, farther than scientific fact, but i thought it was interesting as hell, but dont think everytime you see one of my posts you think "oh thats the guy that wants to not move at all so he lives longer" i know (or believe, whatever) that time is related to speed, but farther to all the religion stuff, i dont necesarily believe it. i might i might not, but the main point of this is

IM NOT TRYING TO PREACH A NEW CULT OR SOME SHIT, JUST WANTED TO POINT SOMETHING OUT, THAT IM 99% SURE IS TRUE.

The problem is your brain moves along with time. Subposedly the sub-concious doesn't need time to think, but I'm not sure if I buy that. I think the sub-concious moves at a much faster rate (and by time I mean physicaly moving).

The only way to not be moving at all is to go to zero kelvin, and that is as cold as it gets. All matter has stopped vibrating and is literally frozen. And Humans couldn't possibly survive it. But if you could somehow get them at that temp. it would be interesting to see if they could still think, in someway or another.

So no I don't think that is the ticket to emortality, but hey I could be wrong.

It's the other way around. The faster you're moving, the faster everything else seems to you, but to them you're aging quickly to them.

This means if you get on a spaceship and travel at a speed somewhere near the speed of light and return after a few years, everybody who stayed on Earth would have gotten a lot older.

Large amounts of gravity also slows down time. Gravity near a black hole is so great that time freezes.

Please realize that time is a dimension, just like the three dimensions we are accustomed to. After you die, time will probably be non-existant, and so will any dimension of space. But there are an infinite amount of possibilities, even in nonexistance (we get this from quantum physics) so it's possible you may be reincarnated, even if it's not on Earth. Or you may just cease to exist. I don't really know, the part about self-awareness is the only possibility I can see for any meaning to life. Your sub-conscious is not part of your conscious, the part that's self aware.

Conscious : sub-conscious :: mind : body

It's more of a support system for your conscious than anything else. Don't worry about it.

Relating consciousness to the physics that supports its existence is like relating the concept of a computer program to the computer it runs on... it wouldn't matter if the computer stopped, the program doesn't feel it. If the computer slowed down, the program still doesn't feel anything, all it can do is notice changes in input.

thanks for your input, very helpful

yeah, the 0 degree thing is also true, then you wouldnt be moving at all. at least i think so in my minor education

so youre saying if you move at the speed of light then time moves slower for you??? i think you would have eternal life if you stopped moving completly, because then time would not exsist, or at moving at the speed of light, because then it works by your reasoning.

either way you still have to be massless to not move at all or travel at the speed of light. especially the speed of light part, the only way to travel at the speed of light is to be massless...yeah in my opinion it would work either way...yeah.

thanks for flameless corrections and comments, i wish someone who was a complete professional on stuff like this would explain it.

edit--yeah im in complete realization that time is a dimension, im not one of those "time passing is in your head" people.

i completly understand the 4th dimension truth.
