Ok, im not slagging off any religions here, just pointing out some facts. ok, so most everyone will tell me that the stories in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey are wrong from a religious point of view. right? i mean, Athene did not appear before Odysseus in Ithaca and talk to him face to face, because she isn't real. just a fictional character. right?

but the greeks used these epics almost as their "bible", for from them people could learn morals and how to live right.

Ok, so the major modern religions say the greek gods cannot exist, but then what makes their religion so special? it is again based on scriptures often hundreds and hundreds of years old. what makes christians so sure the bible was not a mere epic?

please let me know what you think

According to Rudolph Steiner (the founder of anthroposophy), if I am not mistaken, the Gods of Norse and Greek mythologies and the Egyptian pantheon etc., were real spiritual entities which during time went themselves through evolutionary stages and could later be found back in Christianity (amongst others) as members of the spiritual hierarchies, such as Archangels.

Those religions mentioning entities such as Michael or Gabriel, might then all be talking about the same spiritual beings.

Let's not forget that these ancient peoples perceived their Gods according to their "maturity level" so to speak, the stage in human evolution at which they found themselves.

As a rule, holy books are mostly bullshit. Mark Twain said it best when he wrote that the bible contains "some noble poetry, a wealth of obscenity, and upwards of a thousand lies."

The acid test--god is all about love. Any religion which promotes hatred or fear in any form is bullshit.

I concur

Any ideology inherently endowed with dogmatic punishments for manifestations of your inquisitive nature is most likely cult-esque propoganda transferred via hereditary stereotyping and misinterpertation
