So who of the "Believers" (or maybe even none believers), believe in a guru?

The one special soul whose perfect for guiding you towards a spiritual life of perfection? Your best friend who can be trusted entirely and will never give you bad advise.

I could do with crossing paths with my guru anytime soon. Things seem kinda static in my spiritual life. I don't feel like I'm advancing at all.

I was thinking how a stereotypical Guru has to wear robes and chant daily, and tell you to not have sex or eat meat. But then I thought that anyone could be your guru and even though he may not have acheived perfection but he is exactly what you need to advance yourself.

He is like everything you want from a friend and father (or mother in a females case).

Dont perpetuate archaic steretypical characteristics of Gurus devoidn of manifestations indicitave therof.

You need to define the intended utilization of the Literary manifestation " Guru" Though I Infer You Mean an ethreal manifestation of spiritual enlightenmenting assisting you why you introspectively-analyze and subsquently liberate yourself.

i used to feel the need to find a guru, or a mentor or someone destined to teach me.

but then i discovered that i was the only teacher for myself, and that i needed to look within only. and to stop looking outward for guidance and stuff.

i'm having a hard time getting my thoughts out right now so..

read some stuff by jiddu krishnamurti he has a lot of good stuff to say about gurus and stuf, in my opinion

I feel that people do come across millions of "gurus" in the sense that different people are there for important moments for different aspects of your life. With everybody that we meet whether we realize it or not we take a bit from them and leave a little bit in them, a little dose of reality. It's an irreversable change in your life and in thiers, it's just a difference of how much of a change. The most useful and profound nuggets of wisdom come from the most unusual places sometimes.important usually
