"I am who I am" and "god created us in his own imagae". From what I understand we are god, as to say god is us as humanity, it's what connects each of us as a whole. Did every religion miss the point completely or something? What's your opinion. All religions where designed to unite us as a whole yet all they do is devide. I feel like i'm taking crazy pills.

First of all, why do people continue to reproduce the same thread, over and over?
Now if God is real then we are not Him. Whatever material we are made of, comes from Him, but we are not Him.
I cuold make a tiny robot from metals and other materials I excrete or extract from me. But I would not be this robot, this robot would not be me.
I can make a child with a woman, but the child will not be me nor she, it'll just be made from materials from me, and her.

"His own image" could potentially mean a lot of different things. I'd like to learn hebrew and read the actual words, but in english it could mean
We look similar to god;
He created us the way he wanted us to look;
He created us out of the same materials he himself is made out of;
it's not very conclusive.

Maybe it would be more accurate to say that we are a part of God.
Our relationship to God is similar to an Ice Cube in the ocean. The ice cube is made of the same stuff but contained within itself and limited because of that. Time and experience is the process that melts the ice cube and rejoins the two.

Maybe everyone who posted above me should learn a little bit about Hinduism. Then maybe they would have a little better understanding of how we can be god and god can be us all at the same time. Jeezy-Chreezy, these kids with thier Western, Judaeo-Christian beliefs. Not one religion has the answer, but all of them do, even Atheism. They all have a little bit of the truth. Seek and find it, and quit posting in MGCBSOYG!

I disagree with your opinion that every religion has it partially right. From a totally secular, philosophical point of view, you can learn a lot from different religions, but as far as which one is spiritually correct, it makes no sense at all that each one is a piece of the actual truth. I really don't see how people can believe that. But that's a subject for a number of threads i've already started ...
And maybe you should read the first post where he mentions the quote "god created us in his own image" and you'd realize that the poster is asking specifically about Judaeo-Christian beliefs.

theBishop - It's a metaphor. If you knew what I was talking about, you'd know why what you said made no sense.
About the "image" the other part is kind of on track. Ahhh.... why did I come here again, it just drives me mad....
KidKelko is talking about Sananta Dharma. And yes you should check that out in my opionon.
This is closely realted with Advaita Vedanta. Which Metalligod you are forgeting or have dismissed.
It's what is called non-dual religion/philosophy. The basic idea's of which can be found also in and practiced by people belonging to Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity and Buddhism, ect. it reasts on the basic premise that "Nirvana and Samsara are one."
Metalligod, your failure to appreshiate this view seems to be from your lacking understanding, not because of any flaw in the ideology itself. (I'm just judging on what you wrote before)
This is not totaly correct as a metaphor. But is closer to the God/Man/Creation relationship that these ideologies express, rather than the analogy you used.
