Okay, most of us should know what an agnostic is. If you don't basically it's someone who doesn't really have a religion but believes there might be something out there, but they don't really know what.

To me.. this seems just about right. I'm not a true aetheist because I don't think it all works without something being there. I know there is no science yadda yadda yadda and I'm just tyring to explain things, but respect is owed for me as a human being.. I deserve to believe what I like, I can understand your an aetheist, just don't think everyone who has a religion is dumb.

Anyway, (okay this is pretty friggin egotistical, but that's cos I have to get all my ideas out) the closest thing to my ideas of a God are that of the bible. Now, honestly.. I think a lot of the bible is bullshit, I've never believed that "The people of Israel" are God's "chosen people" - otherwise what the hell was the rest of us created for.

I hate the fact that there's so much sectarian violence in the world, people should just accept we're all the same, regardless of ideals we're still human.

So, my question is does anyone think there's something out there like a God, or I dunno the force.. something greater than us but they don't have a slightest clue in hell what it is?

I'm a former muslim who is now agnostic due to the fact that Abrahamic religions are silly and cause people to die.

And eastern religions are philisophically interesting, but those idols and all that crazy shit doesn't appeal to me. And well there is also tribal religions, but yeah I'll pass.

So I'm sticking with agnostic for now.

I'm more or less agnostic. (I often find it difficult to label myself when it comes to religious beliefs, but I suppose this comes closest.)

The simple fact of existence (of the universe, life, everything) just fascinates the hell out of me, and I think all religions are interesting attempts to explain it.

At the deepest philosophical level, though, I have no clue what any of it is or means (or if it means anything at all). None of us *can* know for sure, so I think agnosticism is the only acceptable philosophical position. That's not really what religion is about, though - being able to "know for sure."

(Although you wouldn't know it, to hear some religious people talk.)

Ditto. I've never found a religion that didn't seem contradictory.

I think there is far too much shit out there to think that all this was created by a freak occurance.

Thank you guys.. I think I agree with everything you've all said. I can't stand the fact people fight over religions.. because there is so much that we cannot prove. I just don't think there could be a universe or my existance without something with power unknown to us making it happen.

To be honest, I think the big bang happened, but there was a God that started it, things as big as that to me can't happen on their own.

I think I'm one of those people who appreciate the fact there are religious types and aetheists. No-one should discredit others for their beliefs, we're our own people to decide.
