View Full Version : Where do go when you die?
personally, I think that you don't go anywhere. you just cease to exist, like sleeping without dreaming only your dead. that probably doesn't make any sense, thats just how i feel.sorry if this has already been posted.
I believe that, like you said, you just stop existing. It isn't like sleeping without dreams, it is just not existing. The end, game over, no more quarters. No high score, no nothing. The times that I think about this are the times that I wish I were ignorant enough to believe in God... http://www.totse.com/bbs/frown.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/frown.gif)

I'd like to start off by saying that there is a seperate forum for this, called "my god can kick the shit out of your god". next time, put this stuff there.
as for the question at hand, I'm pretty much like this guy up here. I don't really go to church any more because they're all insensitive, narrow minded assholes, so I generally steer clear. I do believe that there's a god out there with at least SOME influence on what happens in our lives. he just gives us enough freedom to fuck up... well, regularly.
and I think that what point is in life if we just live for a while, consume resources, die, and that's it? wtf is that? that doesn't make sense for shit to just start and end like that, without reason or purpous but to exist just to waste other life. and that's all we're doing here, really. everything that looks like a good thing to humanity is really just another superficial way to destroy life, waste resources, or fight a futile battle with whatever. there has to be something else, there has to be meaning and reason. otherwise, why would there be such a thing as life?
yeah, I think way too much about this than most people. most people seem to scared to think or talk about it, but here I am, thinking this crap up and believing it, because I'm probably right.
...um, pay no attention to me. I'm semi-drunk.

How can 44 people, from different eras, write about almost the exact same thing. The Bible is an amazing piece of literature and if you really dig deep into you can find some really interesting things.
You people may have read it, but there's a lot more in it than you think.

Are you the same person you were when you were born? You have changed so much in your life how can you say that you are the same person? And if you are not the same person, what happened to the person you were before? Did he die, did he change, is he just a small part of something bigger now? Is death just another change? Will parts of you go on to become something else? Or will the you that was you cease to exist? I don't have any answers for you just more questions.

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Well, entropy is forever on the rise. Few trillion years from now, everything should be at rest...so my body will convert to different forms of energy for trillions of years until I finally come to rest in Nirvana/Samsara aka Maximum Entropy.

How can hundreds of people over 50 years write a logically coherent Star Trek mythology? IT MUST BE TRUE!

Yea but that was 50 years, not 1500 (stab in the dark off the top of the head). Star Trek script writers were aware of what the others had written and the there is usually an oversight element that directs the plot development throught the series. They also all wrote well within the life times of the others (With the notable exception of the creator who died a few years back).

Nah, I'm pretty sure there is an afterlife of somekind. It's either endless slumber, or something where you find out the truth. Somewhere where you can ask some guy what the fuck happened to the mary rose, who shot JR and the answer to every conspiracy theory ever made.
I believe we all turn into cupcakes and float endlessly on a sea of magical Taco sauce.
