I'm just curious as to what religion or set of beliefs, if any, that you all live by or atleast attempt to live by. Also if you had to follow one of the 5 major religions(Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism) which one would it be.

Personally I am Agnostic, and if I had to choose another religion it would probably be Buddhism.

My religion is, officially, neo-pagan. My core values can be best described by Crowley's Thelemic works with just a smattering of faerie wicca, but my ritual structure is is based on Celtic wicca.

I was raised as a Southern Baptist (Christian),but as I grew older I began to question the basis of my religion and others.Since I have been unable to obtain logical answers to satisfy my questions, I had to re-evaluate my beliefs.Since I cannot prove to myself whether or not a God exists ,I have accepted an agnostic point of view.

Orthodox Judaism. I tend to interpret a lot of the Torah in the way that many liberals do, but this is my right as a student of the Torah.

im a spiritual satanist, believe in sole self improvements and that there are no "gods" and all the alleged gods are merely extraterrestrials who came to the earth, and the system of christianity, islam, and judaism are just a system to turn over your energy to an entity who wants to harvest it.

I don't give a damn if there's a god or not. If I had to choose it would be Buddhism, a close second being Judaism.

Among other things, I am an ordained ULC minister, but if I had to pin a religion label on myself, it would say "gnostic animist."

I beleive in the satanic moral code/ethics. I don't beleive in satan as a physical being but, more of somthing resides inside of everyones mind. Satinism is more of a pholosephy than a religion for me.

my religion is pretty much pure Thelema, i try to bring Will into everything, makes everything easier when you just do what is right. satanism too, but only the parts i like, the parts like love your friends, hate your enemies, psychic vampires, certain other things. and discordian, god i love chaos and discord.

if i had to pick one of those...hmmm...buddhism, yeah that one.

Raised extremely catholic (not just a little mind you) but now I "believe" in god (higher power, ect.) as a spiritual backup plan only.

Aganostic, but i do try and follow a more Taoist approach to life. However, if i had to chooe one of the 5 mainstream ones, it would be Buddist hands down, no contest. Ive been to highly Buddist countries (Mongolia and South Korea mainly), and i have never gone to any other places which are soo tolerant of other religions and which are soo peaceful.

I am probaly the opposite of most Americans. I was raised in a secular household. My parents only frequented church on certain holidays. They taught me nothing about God, Buddha, or Zeus for that matter. So I gre up with alot of questions. I assumed that people came from apes cause that's what the textbooks said and I figured they were from a reputable source. I was a devout Agnostic during my years of greater understanding. I reasoned that I cannot disprove God, so for the sake of open-mindedness, I will not be an Atheist. But as we all know, an Agnostic tends to be a closet-Atheist. So it was as such. But, the more I reasoned, the more I found conflicting discrepancies in my thoughts and my learnings in general. Admittedly, I feared reading religious books out of fear of being sucked into propaganda, like a cult. But slowly, something beckoned me to investigate matters of the supernatural a little deeper. I had countless people try to talk to me about God but none of them made a lick of sense. The reason I suspect, was becasue they had no idea why they believed. They were no more informative than the National Inquirer. Alas, I met more people with half a brain who just talked to me and nothing more. they weren't out to recruit me, they now I know they were silently praying for my salvation. I met my future wife, and we talked for hours on the subject. Finally, aftre years of debate and conjecture and speculation and reasoning, I concluded that there has to be a higher power and all the people I've talked to never really spoke about God. They talked to me about god... One that suited them... (Idolatry) It may sound totally hokey to you and if you've never felt it, it will mean nothing to you. I wept. I wept for joy. I wept for sorrow. I wept for forgiveness. I wept for elation. I felt much less selfish. It was then I realized the genius of evil as a whole. So cunning. So wise, but for all the wrong reasons. believe it or not, when I first started to a least begin to accept the possibiblit of God, I felt an intense anger directed towards me. The weeping came a week later when I finally submitted for good to the will of God, and no longer a life to please my flesh. I'm sure there are some in here that will pawn this off as my attempt to recruit you out of pity. I will likely be called a Fundie or some derrogatory comment akin to that. Charles Spurgeon once said, "If you don't care if a soul be saved, then be certain that you yourself are not saved." It just feels really good to see someone end there pain in this mortal body. That's my hokey story, and I'm stickin' to it.

I'm a Nihilist. But for the uneducated and ignorant that means I refute of God, the refutation of morality, refutation of law, refutation of justice, and the refutation of all artificial order.

~ONTOPIC:~

I don't really have any religion, and I don't believe in any higher "power" (notice how I put that in double quotes. The details are forth-coming. http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)). I do, though, believe in a universal "consciousness" (again with the double quote, again with the forth-coming). What I mean, though, by consciousness, is the collective lives of the universe connected together, creating a pseudo-being, that is, the universe itself.

If anyone cares, I can post more about this. If not, which I fully understand and assume everyone will for the obvious reason being that it's a boring subject unless you can understand my way of thinking, I won't. http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)

after a long time, I found that christianity just didn't work for me. Not that there's anything wrong with it as a whole, but there were pretty fundamental aspects of its dogma that I couldn't swallow (primarily the existance of only one true god). I just had to move on.

Right now, I am a wiccan. I mix in elements of buddhism, druidism, animism, and a few other beliefs such as faerie wicca. If I had to choose, I'd be a buddhist. That lot really has a handle on things (especially the Dhali Lama)

Since all religions have a common denominator, and are, in certain ways fundamentally similar, I choose to abide by the one with the closest relationship to my own blood. Ergo, I choose to be a true Asatru, as per the guidelines of the world of Tradition.

Research Jungian psychology and Julius Evola's drawing of parallels between archaic civilizations to get a better grasp.

By the way, Neo-Pagan is a contradiction of terms. (http://www.geocities.com/capitolhill/1404/pagan.html)

The universe exists as an expression of consciousness.

We are a part of that consciousness experiencing itself from an outside perspective.

Our reality is ours to create.

If you can think it, it's possible.

Eventually you learn how to create the best possible relity for yourself, which happens to be the same as the overall consciousness.

You're right, but that doesn't mean you don't have beliefs.

Surely you have thought about what is most likely, even if you don't know.

I am an agnostic existentialist nihilist. it is impossible to prove whether there is a god or not. I believe people should place importance on themselves as an individual as opposed to placing importance on their part in organized religion.

I was christianed an Anglican (chruch of England), sadly and if I could undo it and be arsed to do it I would. But I call my self an agnostic. If I had to follow a religion it would be Buddhism.
