View Full Version : How do you explain other religions?

This is mostly directed at the theists out there.

There are thousands of different belief systems that exist today, thousands more that no longer exist and an unknown number that will exist in the future. Many of them are mutually exclusive.

How do you explain the existence of these other religions without diluting your own claim?

If they're inspired by Satan or the like, why can't the same claim be made about your beliefs?

If they're entirely made up by people or corruptions of "The Truth", why can't the same claim be made about your beliefs?

They are all understandings/misunderstandings of the same thing.

See the similarities between 1 religeon and the next.

I wouldn't say any 1 religeon is entirely right or wrong.

I completely agree with that. All and all religions have much in common.

I do not mind if someone is a christian or a hindu or a satanist, or if one worshipes egypt gods. I cannot judge views of other people because I have my way and they have their ways, we have what we choose, and we choose what we want.

But I dislike when someone starts and argument saying "other religions are wrong", or saying that there are demons in me (I was told that, I am not kidding). People should learn how to get on with each other.

I think it's reasuring that most religions are similar in some way, it reminds you that human nature is universal, that people everywhere have the same needs. I don't believe anyone, or see how anyone in the modern scientific world can, and as I said in another thread I don't really respect them, but I think they're cool nonetheless.
