Well, kids no one seems to understand that if there is a god and he is omnipotent, that just means he can see all possible futures. There are infinite numbers of variations on the universe(as any totse goer should have at least heard). So did god know I was going to write this? He knew I could if the circumstances were correct. God might have given me a nudge in the right direction. This reconciles omnipotence and free will. I am free to do as I please, god knows every possible thing I will do. So I get to do as I please, and if it pisses god off, he can set up circumstances so I will freely pick an option that doesnt unsettle the heavenly dude.

I agree. If God knows what we're going to do before we do it, there's no true free will. On the other hand, if God does not, then he is not truely omniscient and therefore not truely omnipotent and so the whole ideal starts to break down.
Basically, this is one of the many contradictions in Judeo-Christian and Islamic philosophy.

I agree. Only maybe, just maybe, god isn't omnipotent. All powerful, I think so. Its easy to see how those two would go together easliy. So maybe omnipotence was a lie. I always viewed this theory as a tree. Every option foretold yet so many different branches.
Yah I knwo what you guys are talking about it doesnt make much sense but someone sort of explained it to me. say you are watching some little kid playing around on top of a fence and you know hes going to fall you know and you cant stop him Its the kids free will to play on the fence and you know hes going to fall but you didnt cause it. I know its not the best one but it sort of explained it to me. God knows what we are going to do but he didnt make us do it he just knew what we were going to do when he made us.
