...No really, why?

I've thought on this for quite some time, and I don't think there's any reason to detest the dude. If God, in any way, truly exists, My hat's off to Him/it/them.

I see no reason to despise Him, it makes absolutely no sense what so ever. He has not participated in anything damning in our human lives.(Not to my knowldge anyway.)

Maybe people despise Him most for the very reason that He's not envolved in our lives, but He's one clever son of nothingness. He fools us at every turn. Are we illusions, or real beings, or both?

Is matter real? Atoms are comprised of electrons protons and neutrons. Those are comprised of quarks. Quarks! Quarks! And then there are neutrino's. Ahh! Neutrinos, which are said to have little or NO MASS! ugh! It's all so confusing! You'd have to be one maticulous, intelligent m'f-er to think this stuff up.

So why hate Him?

I don't. I don't hate him any more then Thor, or Seth, or Zues, or Mars.

In Norse, Thor didn't create people. Odin did.

Then again, neither did Mars.

surely if someone is belonging to a certain religion they dont hate their god(s) nad don't believe in other gods of course if you are an atheist then you believe in no god so you can't possibly hate Him/It/Them. some people may believe in god(s) and blame them for all the things that happen in the world, good and bad, so may hate Them for causing wars and earthquakes and things like that, but wars and nuclear bombs and things like that are man made, so its not Their fault. many people who believe in god(s) believe everything happens for a reason and just because its not neccasarily what you think should happen in the long run it is the best thing to happen

If there is a God (which I doubt, but it is fun to take a different perspective now and again), I'd love to ask him why. Not any specific "why", just "Why?". He'd understand what I mean, and answer it in the only way that a question of that factor can be answered. http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

One has to wonder what made you come up with this. If you believe in God, it's because you want to, so you probably aren't going to hate him.

More significantly: What the fuck? Depending on how much you think God intervenes in daily life, then flood, famine, war terroist attacks, rape, murder, mutilation, torture, are all his fault. These things happen all around the world every day. Of the 6.3 billion people on Earth, billions live in terrible poverty, and all of us are dying.

If there is a God, he's a bastard.

There is one particularly damning thing to be said about this. I can't recall who orignally said it, though I suspect it was Kurt Vonnegut. To (loosely) paraphrase:

quote:God created humans in his image, and put them in Paradise with a trap. They fell for it because of the way they were made, and he cast them out. You have to be one sick fuck to do something like that.

Practically psychopathic, when you think about it.

Not true. The fact that someone believes in God, does not mean it's because they want to. People could believe in God for a number of reasons, one being because it makes sense that He'd exist. And the fact that someone may want to believe in God, does not mean in any way that they're going to 'not' hate Him.

How can you hate something you don't believe in? And gain, those that want to believe in Him, could do so because it seems logical that He'd exist. (Yes I realize that you said 'probably hate Him', I'm just saying)

As for everything else you said...

I believe in the possibility of God. However, I don't believe Him to be the way the bible personifies Him. I take God and I use logic when thinking of His character. Too many things in the bible are contradictory on the personification of God for anyone with a brain to honestly believe or take into context.

I don't believe in the 'Adam and Eve' Garden bullshit. Science disproves that theory in far too many ways for it to be true. The human race would not have made it through the Stone Age if the bible were true. Hell, there'd be no Stone Age if the bible were true.

The human brain would not be the mega-power it is. Our brains would have been horribly mal-developed do to retardation from incessant inbreeding.

I'm saying all this to get across that one should not/does not have to believe in the traditional views of God, to believe in Him or the possibility of Him.

I don't believe the 'Garden' incident happened therefore I don't believe Him to be psychotic. But I do believe Him to be uncaring, as He has the right to be. After all, most of 'us' are.

So if God gave you all the breath of life, why not pay close attention to it every once in a while http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif)

God is in us all. Some people just are more awake than others I guess.
