Truly I don't have a clue what this means. On the surface it says that the antichrist's name will equal or be 666.

But I think it's alot more than that.

I just want to hear other peoples take on this.

What he said, but basically the idea is that Greek and Hebrew letters also have numerical value and the letters of the Antichrist's name, when added up, equal six-hundred and sixty six.

and there's always tons of people at any given time that their numbers add up. I mean important people. Every generation. No use worrying about it

666 is an odd number(His number is only 666 at times, it symbolizes the coming of the age of aquarius).... I think that the antichrist will be a good thing when he comes. But I found something interesting: I turned 666 into a binary value,and then started to use it for different things like games and such. Also, satan's numbers are 2 and 11. This is what I found the binary value of 666 to be: 110011011. Eleven appears three times, with 2 zeros in between 2 elevens. I think I did my math right anyway. But when I use the number(the binary form..... the schoolteachers don't like it when I just flat out use 666) things get better, or odd things happen. I used it as a screenname for a game I was never good at, I won nearly every time. whether you think it's real or not.... is up to you.

sorry dude, you doing well on your game was not caused by your screenname being satanic, but by you [B]thinking[B] that you had an evil side-kick... the binary number 110011011 is an odd number, not even. your math was off by 255. the number you wrote was 411 base 10. sorry for calling you wrong, but im not sorry that you are wrong--stay away from trying to play with the occult... at best it wont work, and i would hate to find out the worst senerio.

This is how the numbers are used in the biblical/religious terms, though some believe 666 actually was meant to signify Sex because the "numbers" used were all written in lowercase, thus not indicating numbers, but letters.

Biblical Numerology....thats an interesting read.

"6" in the number of "Man"....God created man on the sixth day.

The Bible is a Prophetic Book, One of Gods litterary styles is to place "Types" in his book. Now, bear with me, Im building up to a point, and will show you something mildly trippy!

A "Type" is a foreshadow of something to come, or a clue to something to come. For example,

The method of calculation is called Gematria, and there are many words that equal 666. It should be 666 in Roman numerals not Arabic, unless a proper transliteration method is provided.

I am surprised a true rabbi would teach this, as gematria and Kabbalah are AFAIK, subjects not taught to the uninitiated.

It isn't some secret holy numerology, it was kind of common knowledge to all jews, like 13 is an unlucky number to about everyone in western culture. It was like that but on a larger scale, prime numbers were perfect. even numbers were evil. It's not kabbalah or gemetria, it was just numerology of the jewish massess.

yeah, kinda. But the poster was refering to the specific passage. He wanted to know what 666 meant symbolically, because the passage says that only he who understands, will understand it.
