Having a look through totse, it seems a lot of 'practitioners of Wicca' like to use magick to kill their enemies and such. Can anyone tell me why people's idea of Wicca has gone from 'An it harm none, do what thou will' to 'dark gods' and such?

I concur. Also, even those posers who say they're wiccan aren't anything close to Satanists. I agree that they are stupid, but Satanism is legitimate too. Not that eclectic bullshit mix of Wicca and that B movie The Craft.

I believe I remembered that correctly, lol. It's been a while since my parents made me recite that. I just posted that up, so that I could hopefully prove that Wiccans that abide by the TRUE ways of the Wiccan are not Satanists.

Has anyone bothered to write into that jesus-is-lord site and pick out the many glaring inaccuracies, slanderous comments and outright lies about Wicca? Nothing offensive... just a nice polite e-mail telling them they are badly wrong in many ways... I'll do it...

Either way, I have noticed that a great deal of people practice the wiccan religion incorrectly. They do idiotic things like replacing candles with flashlights. Excuse me if im incorrect, im not a follower of the wiccan religion, But altho contradicting popular belife, its not harry potter.

Witchcraft never existed, it was an excuse for old men to burn people. Wicca seems to me to be a mish-mash of all sorts of mystical bullshit, in a harmless 'horoscope' sort of way. Sure, they believe in the witchcraft that was accused of in lots of women in the past, but they seem to think they're "white witches" or somthing. Meh, looks harmless enough.

That article draws a lot of really unfair parallels between satanism and Wicca. Also, the author spends a great amount of time insulting, rather than making a well-informed and logical argument.

Yes, I will definitely concede that a lot of "wiccans" are wierd about it, trying to cause harm to other peoples or to mess around with things that, if they proved real, should not be screwed with. That's an alarming percent of wiccans. However, that's not all wiccans. I got into it because it was a mellow faith that reveres nature, plus you can make it your own - its very individualistic. Some of my beliefs are way out, but I try to keep it practical.
